Hi Rodguy911, Does anyone know the latest on the Bubba-ABC (Disney) phone call?
I had to laugh when Casey said repeal the tax cut for incomes over 200,000...
If he really thinks that that qualifies as the "ultra-rich"...like the lib's talking points says...he hasn't lived in the real world.
I would guess that most people with that income are the VERY PEOPLE that have contributed to the lower unemployment rate..and the deficit being paid off FASTER than expected.
BUT, they are NOT the people that can afford to do that with more taxes...and a 10.00 per hour minimum wage.
I've seen a lot of listed reasons for the duration of the war against Germany, however I haven't seen what I consider to be the most relevant.
The German Nazi's had already shot their load in Russia and by the time of Normandy they were already losing. The Allied invasion accelerated the Nazi defeat certainly, but IMO they were going down anyway.
But I'm sure no one in the DBM/MSM/DNC would ever do anything other than look at dates.
After all what do the conditions on the ground have to do with anything.
President Bush reaching in and grabbing that man was the real George W. Bush.
It was no photo op! Never was it mentioned by the DMB! (that I remember)!
It was an honest reaction to help someone!!
If this is a "Lousy Economy", we have NEVER had a good one.
Do you have some specific examples?
Not without doing more research than I'm willing to do right now. I have other things demanding my time. But, I keep remembering numerous instances of both leaks and stories on how employees are pushing agendas over administration policies. In fact, you probably know more examples than I do.
Almost all of the people I know who were agency employees have been apolitical. The problems happen when we have a Plame or Armitage in positions where they change into partisans with an agenda. Every administration I have read about complains about the same things going on. Nor is it restricted to any one agency. Deep Throat, number two at the FBI proved that.
Armitage was a political appointee and Plame a career employee. In my experience very few political appointees are "apolitical." They are chosen for their political views and loyalty.
Agreed. But I rarely hear of conservatives betraying an administration over political differences, which are continuous events with liberal appointees. Nor are Republican appointees openly betraying America to support our enemies. It was not a Republican who put up the Gorelick seperation wall in the FBI. It was not a conservative who leaked the Plame information.
Holy moly Rocky,
You should read the NYT and The Washington Post again. As much as I dispise those papers for giving this story any kind of legs ..they seem to have come to see the light...maybe you should too. Or is this really Joe Wilson in disguise?
Your post #132 is dead on, Peach.
You are terrific at getting to the heart of the problem..and that is the OTHER GOP members of Congress.
It was SO refreshing to hear Rick Santorum to come out and be proud of being on Bush's "side" 95% of the time....I haven't heard anyone else even come close to that stance.
I said it was not unusual for USG officials to use their influence for personal gain. It has always been my contention that Wilson's two USG funded trips to Niger were to further Wilson's personal business interests. Wilson then tried to parlay the second trip, after the fact, to gain political advantage in hopes that he would be appointed to a high level job in the Kerry administration.
I recall the great cooperation from the Ambassador Yemen that the FBI got when it tried to investigate the USS Cole attack
Ambassador Bodine, a career officer, appointed by Clinton works as the President's personal representative. If the FBI was not getting the cooperation it needed, then they should have gone directly to the President or via the Attorney General. The US ambassador serves at the discretion of the President and can be fired or removed immediately by him. The FBI had similar problems with the Khobar towers investigation. The problem is the WH, not the ambassador.
I would really like to believe your analysis. But then the next questionable act comes up, like boosting Saudi Arabian student's presence in the states, and suddenly I feel less secure again.
We have diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia and don't view their government as a state sponsor of terrorism. We also have significant strategic security and economic relationships with the Saudis. Are you proposing that no Saudis be allowed into the US to study?
Great post, rodguy...I see you are still on a roll from last week.
Dems are quick to say that there is a "civil war" in Iraq...and I am thinking that there is a "civil war" going on here in the USA...
It is a war of words, to be sure...but a war nonetheless...and if I may say so...the "war of words" is not very "civil".
The reason that I am being very serious..and not just using analogy is because in America, our elections are won/lost by the use of "words"...not guns and violence like some other countries..
But, the result is just as important....and if we let the Dems win the "war of words"....we will end up with guns to our heads..and that is to SERIOUS to be considered less than a civil war.
"Casey says he wants to repeal the tax cut for those earning over $200,000 per year. He wants a corporate welfare commission??? Don't know what that is."
The Corporate-Subsidy Ticket
Once again, Kerry-Edwards is trying to have it both ways.

Thanks, Txsleuth. I missed the Sunday talk shows today for the most part because the Bishop came to our church today and there was a fair amount to do beforehand, so I'm so happy to read your report about Santorum.
You're always great at posting what you've heard so those of us who miss things can just go read your posts. Thanks a lot!
If only more of our elected officials would stop running from the president and his agenda. It's disgraceful that they don't have the backbone or strength of their convictions.
As far as I can tell, the president is one of the few people in Washington, D.C., who says what he means and means what he says and doesn't wobble. He's not right all the time and he'd be the first to admit that, but he has more common sense and ethics in his pinky that the rest of the Congressional body put together.
I watched him on Friday. Steyn was masterful. It was an excellent session. (He's cute too.)
You are so right.
I have been watching Brian Wilson's Fox Sunday show...from the start and there is only 50 minutes left.
I haven't heard even ONE mention of the Plamegate subject..not ONE!
But, he has been plugging a segment on childhood obesity with the Arkansas Governor ALL DAY!! sheesh
Absolutely it was an automatic reaction to the situation. He saw the man in trouble and reacted.
I don't know what it is but whenever he is on my mind sort goes into a severe catatonic trance. I see visions of a Senator who thinks he is driving a Corvette instead of a bicycle powered by a briggs and stratton engine.(if only I could draw)
