The president spoke with UN SG Kofi Annan about the international force being assembled for Lebanon; the Iranian regime's statement on its nuclear program; and the need to improve the situation in Darfur. He attended a fundraiser for Senator George Allen, R-VA.
President Bush met with Rockey Vaccarella, Louisiana victim of Hurricane Katrina, to discuss rebuilding efforts there.
Here is a link to one interpretation of what Salad Cream is.
The number one seller in Britain is made by Heinz

Here are details from Heinz's official UK site

Here is another link which goes nearer my feelings on Salad Cream - incidently I do not buy the Heinz variety I prefer my local supermarkets own brand.

It's a bit starker than this one, but in a couple of weeks I'll give it a try.
I find that if I try to eat my normal low cal diet for a few weeks in between, I have better success on this one.
Thanks for freeping it to me!
Thought you would appreciate that comment from me. I do not buy Heinz baked beans or tomato ketchup either. :o)
I buy Hunt's ketchup
I like to keep a small jar of brined capers on hand. Due to the way they are canned, they last just about forever, in terms of refrigerated products. I eat a fair amount of salmon and they go very well atop of the fish, especially in the recipe I use for baking salmon. They're fun food, IMO. Little surprise bursts of flavor.
Your spaghetti sandwich post led me to this:
Pizza Pockets
http://tinyurl.com/ouunx
INGREDIENTS:
* Two tablespoons of jar or leftover spaghetti sauce
* Heaping tablespoon if mozzarella cheese
* Two slices of bread, buttered on one side
* **Optional topping of choice: mushrooms, pepperoni, etc.
PREPARATION:
Preheat sandwich maker according to the manufacturers directions. Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the sandwich maker. Mound the heaping tablespoon of mozzarella cheese in the middle of the bread.
Pour two tablespoons of sauce on the cheese. Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up. Close and lock lid. Cook for two minutes, check and cook for up to one minute more as needed.
Oddly enough, I don't get hungry at all on it. The total lack of carbs causes me a mild headache, on occasion, usually at the end of the day. I sometimes have a cracker or a small piece of cheese, or both, and it goes away. Always lose at least 5 pounds though.
Critical question............does it stay off, or come back as soon as you return to your normal diet?
I have both kept it off for long periods and gained it back in the 3 days off. Following a sensible eating plan after the 4 days will sustain the loss.
How would you describe the taste difference between salad cream and mayonnaise?
(Interesting history of mayo, BTW -- thanks for that link.)
Wow, Cubby -- you have potato chip + other stuff sandwiches too! Way cool.
I enjoy peanut butter and potato chip sandwiches. Don't have them very often but I love them. This is not something I often reveal about myself to people who are staring me in the face becasue I get such weird looks. =)
LOL maybe someone should commission a study on how much using the Internet is affecting life in the kitchen.
Mayonnaise to me is bland very eggy rich and sickly whereas salad cream has a tangy sharp taste and does not taste rich at all.
Strawberry laces and pink shrimp seem to be shaped and colored sugar. Sort of like American red vines, fruit strings, that sort of thing.
Maybe if I spent less time on FR I would be more inclined to cook? ;*)

Sure, sure, blame US!
I heartily commend you for the fitness work you're doing, even though it isn't yielding the lesser ohio you desire -- I think you must get a lot of satisfaction in knowing you are working at being strong, fit, healthy -- IOW, disease-resistant and vigorous. Good on you.
Eleanor! That is fantastic! (Losing 28 lbs.) I remember your post a while back, lamenting gaining weight -- so glad to see you're losing it.
That's what I thought, too, JAN. Just the exterior is different.
