The president spoke with UN SG Kofi Annan about the international force being assembled for Lebanon; the Iranian regime's statement on its nuclear program; and the need to improve the situation in Darfur. He attended a fundraiser for Senator George Allen, R-VA.
President Bush met with Rockey Vaccarella, Louisiana victim of Hurricane Katrina, to discuss rebuilding efforts there.

btw, Mr. Ohio's cholesterol med just requires that he wait a certain period of time before eating grapefruit. Does yours preclude it altogether?
(He lost 7 pounds the first time we tried it last fall).

Dad cannot eat Grapefruit and only minimal leaf vegetables because he is on blood thinning meds.
Wafarin (rat poisin)
I am lucky if I really put my mind to it I can loose 1 - 2 lb per week without any more exercise. I wondered being nearly 10 years older if I would have a problem but so far I have not. The last 8 - 10 lbs though might be more of struggle but I cannot complain already loosing about 28lbs.
I have set my target weight at about 7lbs over what I used to consider my ideal weight to be to taken into consideration being older. My problem is that at only 5'2" weight gain soon shows but at my new target weight of 120 lbs I should look OK.

No they are no soft and squishy or marshmallowy. They are unique especially the real ones which from the advert this sounds like the ones I had as a child.
It is just a candy that when you put it in your mouth sort of disintegrates and you are just left with powder almost. A cheap version of Edinburgh rock if you have ever had that.

I think God made me a fat person, but I'm going to fight it with every ounce of strength I have. It's not nice to fight God! ;*)
I have a 4 Day diet that you can lose up to 10 lbs. on. I cheat like crazy, creamer in coffee, diet coke etc., and still lose 5 in 4.
My metabolism is seriously at zero.
Then eating less, more frequently will kick your metabolism into gear. Have you ever heard of Michael Thurman? You answer questions to determine your body type and what you should be eating. Then eat those foods in 6 meals/snacks per day.
I lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks doing this and I ate far more than I usually do. After 2-3 hours on this eating plan, I was starving! I typically eat once a day as I do not get hungry. It was difficult for me to work in 6 meals!

No, I've never had Edinburgh rock, that I know of.

Hi snugs - I do so love hearing the differences in everyone's upbringing menus.
Yes, you are right. We actually call a salad with meat and eggs and bacon bits, a Cobb Salad here. I've had a steak and romano cheese salad, which was really good. Generally, I can see why the concept of laying meat on top of lettuce would seem kinda gross, now that I think of it. It should be separate.
Salad Cream, huh? Forgive me, but it sounds kinda like you put it all in a blender and creamed it...or whipped cream is the other picture that comes to mind. Neither one would sound as good as salad "dressing" to me. Salad "dressing" sounds more like the proper "accessory" to a "well-dressed" salad - ha ha.
Yep, Miracle Whip sounds like our version of your tarter salad cream. There's many of us that feel the same way, here....put snugs on our Miracle Whip side ;-)

I've tried everything, Just. None of the 'jump start' methods seem to work. Turning fat to muscle just makes me weigh more.
It's not that I'm overweight.........it's just that I want to lose 10 (more) pounds, and it's looking impossible.
(At least short of starvation, or training for a marathon. :)
btw, can you give me that diet? I never cheat on this one, so maybe yours will work.

Aha! Since you were talking about Minneapolis, I thought you might be from Augsburg..........they're called the "Augies" too, if memory serves correctly.
(Got a brother in SoDak, not too far from you. Nice state. :)

"Gov't cafeterias aren't great - maybe you should start thinking about brown bags."
As a government employee, I have to agree with speekinout, gov't cafaterias are not that great. Start bringing your lunches if there's no place nearby to go to.
