That's exactly right.
Someone in Rangel's position is pretty useless from a national party's perspective anyway. It's not as if his district is ever going to elect a Republican anyway, so the Democrat Party would be perfectly content to have a pile of rocks in his seat with a (D) next to it.

We can only hope. I bet, like everything else the Dems do, this is just another lie to give conservatives false hope.

Someone in the House or in his district needs to save a copy of this and shove it in his face come January...

Just like Rush says, liberals only want to be in office when they have the power.

I'd suggest he start lining up his next job. The Dems may pick up seats but I just can't see them winning enough to control congress.

"said yesterday he'd resign his seat if Democrats don't take control of the House in November."He'll be on the same plane as Streisand, Baldwin, Cher, etc. when they said they'd leave the country if Bush was elected.....
To: jimbo123
One can only hope he means it, but as a Democrat you know how to tell when he's lying - his lips move.

Agreed. I think that he must've read Bob Novak's latest column and made the mistake of believing it. I don't think for a minute that he really means it. Besides, he's been in Congress so long, he's not qualified to do anything else (not that he's qualified for that either, but qualifications don't seem to matter in Democrat-leaning congressional districts).
