WASHINGTON -- Quietly leaving his post as surgeon general, Dr. Richard Carmona said he would judge himself successful if he had persuaded one student to make good health choices or one mother to stop smoking.
Carmona's report condemning secondhand smoke was a hallmark of his tenure as the nation's 17th surgeon general.

"Posters created by the Surgeon General that is the subject of this thread are not relevant?"
Yes. Anything created by the office of propaganda is relevant to ALL your postings. Good work. Carry on.

Care to explain what exposure rates to secondhand smoke cause cancer in humans?

No, because this man is the patron saint of junk science. There's not a scintilla of evidence available that proves secondhand smoke kills anything.

Four ribbons/medals. What about the other five rows?
Off the top of my head - and I admit to swagging some answers - Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, Army NG, Air NG. I do not like to include the USCG because - unless war is declared by Congress - the USCG is now part of Homeland Security and not DoD.

"Also, note that since it has not been listed as a cause of death it has never been ruled out either."
That's like saying that there is no proof someone died from a tree falling on them, but It's 'possible' it could have happened.
It's a canard, and position that has no merit!
Either you died from smoking or you didn't. There isn't any 'in between'!
"Smoking is a horrible thing to do to your body and if you are exposing children and others to it you are harming your fellow beings. Like it or not."
Bull crap!
My wife and I have smoked around our children since they were born and NEITHER ONE of them has developed Asthma or any other breathing problems.
And the same goes for my brother and sisters whose kid have had no ill effects from 'second hand smoke'.
You have no more proof than the EPA does or Surgeon General did.

Did you read this post ray the ACS test results PROVE secondhand smoke is 25,000 times SAFER than OSHA regulations for secondhand smokeNo, that's not what that says...it says that the amounts are 25,000 times lower. That does NOT even imply 25,000 times safer, just lower.

Does it matter? The Federal government will now be giving it credence. The smoking bans that follow will have the stamp of approval of US Congress and President.
The mission to stop them is all but lost.

the adults in charge make their world smaller and smaller each day.If the adults are in charge, why would they want a smaller world?
Oh, I get it - so they won't have to be exposed to all that nasty smoke.
I would imagine that, in their smaller world, the 'adults' will also stop driving, since car exhaust is known to be harmful if breathed.

If an OSHA regulated substance is 25,000 times lower than OSHA regulations.......it is also 25,000 times SAFER than that OSHA regulation.

My daughter never ever developed asthma or is not allergic to anything! And she was brought up in a smoking household.

Does it matter?Absolutely.
If there is no dose/response correlation, then there is little evidence of causation.
Without causation what do you have?
Yes, there is a positive correlation between smoking and a variety of health ailments, but so far no one has proven that x amount of smoking will produce y type of effects in humans.
IOW, some of you have to rely on falsehoods in order to further your agenda.
