The Writing On The Democrats' Wall

Posted 7/7/2006

Origins Of Terrorism: The Democrats and anti-war left want us to entrust them with the war on terror in 2006 and 2008 — a war that could have been prevented when they did have the reins.

The war we're engaged in did not begin Sept. 11, 2001, but during the administration of Jimmy Carter. On taking office in 1977, he declared that advancing "human rights" was among his highest priorities. America's ally, the shah of Iran, was one of his first targets, with Carter chastising him for his human rights record and withdrawing America's support.

When Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew the shah in February 1979, he established the first modern Islamic regime, a role model for the Taliban and the jihadists to follow.

And when the U.S. Embassy was stormed that November and 52 hostages were held for 444 days, our lack of resolve was confirmed in the jihadist mind.

The wreckage of American aircraft in the Iranian desert in an ill-fated rescue only served to confirm our naivete and ineptitude. The rest, as they say, is history.

The Soviet Union, seeing us so willingly abandon a staunch ally, invaded Afghanistan, and it was the resistance to the Soviet invasion that helped give birth to the Taliban.

Fast-forward to the Clinton administration, and once again we see the fruits of Democratic foreign policy. On Oct. 3-4, 1993, the armed forces of the world's only superpower engaged in battle with the forces of Somali warlord Mohamed Farrah Adid in the streets of Somalia's capital, Mogadishu.

After a 15-hour battle, 18 Americans were killed and 80 wounded. One dead U.S. soldier was dragged through the streets in an act designed to humiliate the U.S. in the jihadist world....

Now the party of John Murtha, forgetting its own history, wants us to "redeploy" out of Iraq and, like Vietnam, declare victory and abandon our allies.

Dunkirk was not a redeployment.

Hi SS, very good piece. The above sentence says it all for the mindset of the Democratic Party from the early 70's to present.

We can't let it happen again.

We will not let it happen again.

Somebody came up in my back yard last night and stole my 2 gal. gas can that I fill my lawn mower with. Heck, it couldn't have had more than half a gallon in it. I've had that same can in the same place for 12 years.

BUSH STOLE MY GAS CAN! :D

The canteen is a great place! My 56k dialup can't handle too much of it(Lotsa graphics and bandwith jam my little 'ole webtv up), so I don't participate as much as I would like too.

Always fun to chat with you, though! :)

It’s only a few words, yet it says it all.

I wish I knew how to put it on a bumper sticker.

Great article. Thanks for posting it. I liked the phrase about Carter's creation of a "habitat for inhumanity" by his abandonment of the Shah of Iran (I really think Carter is one of our very worst presidents) and the way the article highlights Jamie Gorelick's involvement in preventing us from connecting the dots.

Good piece, but almost too short for the scope of what it's trying to relay.

Add to that the shooting of the two CIA employees at the entrance to the CIA headquarters, that was a Moose-limb too.

No cheers, unfortunately.

We will not let it happen again.

Unfortunately, I think we already have. From day one of his first administration, the rats & old media constantly pilloried the President and purposely divided our nation. They continue to do so in time of war.

The result is a nation without the will to win.

At this point in WWII we were fire bombing Japanese cities and about to land at Normandy. Fast forward and here we are in the fourth year of horrible asymmetric urban warfare in Iraq. By splitting the country, the rats have made sure that we will not do what is necessary to win. Imagine our military being allowed to fight at the same level as the irregulars. The rats, media, UN etc would howl for his impeachment.

The rats know they cannot allow George Bush to win the Iraqi war, lest they be cast in the political wilderness for many years. Make no mistake. Rat opposition to the war is purely political. They gladly watch our brave soldiers and marines died horrible deaths in order to brighten their chance of regaining power.

I don't think they really (I mean really) believe we are at war. They look at this the same way they do..say highway subsidies. It's either that or large protions of our population are stark raving mad.
