A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Happy Warm and Fuzzy Wednesday To The Finest!

I found this piicture on my new, used hand me down computer my son brought down on Tuesday. Among the many football, basketball, Texas Tech pictures in the picture file I found some great patriotic graphics and that made me feel warm and fuzzy(this computer went to college with his middle son). It was a great holiday surprise!
I had a wonderful visit with my son ..We pulled almost an all nighter trying to get this computer upgraded , popup blocked, etc. I have much to do to get it organized..I at least can store pictures, have a favorites file, and , with patience, load the Finest thread! Yea!
This computer has a way of shutting down when I try to do some functions so it is still slow go!
I loved the terrific graphics you all posted for the Fourth thread..It was such a beautiful presentation, Dolly..
!

Thank You for Warm and Fuzzy Wednesday, Gee Bee
Back to deleting , organizing and trying to find the error I can't get rid of....LOL

Thank You, Kitty! I read the good news that Maggie is going home.. I might not have been posting but the prayers never stop.

One of the things I love about being home in Central Texas is that my computer view is right by a sliding door to the patio and woods behind me..The titmouse was the first I heard after I arrived..then the cardinals, the mocking bird and the chickadee..

I am not schooled in bird song..but those I figured out. I have some sunflower seeds to put out as soon as the rain stops..It will take a while to get them to come to feed. The squirrels will be here promptly..LOL

I have seen all near the patio but only briefly. I rarely see mockingbirds until the youpon tree berries ripen..Then they own the tree..!

LOL.

It was made even more special watching the beautiful shuttle launch. And then coming home from my parents to hear that North Korea couldn't even get (thankfully) a missile much off the launch pad.

Warm Fuzzy Wednesday Kitten Haikus

Kittens love to Nap
If we can't lie down or stretch
Out, sometimes we'll stand

Energy is to be
Measured. So we don't conk out
And end up like this!

I can pull myself
Up later. This Chair is
Mine for the taking!

I hear the Pretty
One's voice. She is looking, but
She won't find me here!

I could stretch or leap
Up. But my arm makes such a
Silky, soft pillow

My chin rests and my
Head turns just a bit as my
Purr lulls me to sleep

My eyes slowly close
My ears turn to catch and keep
The Music of Dreams

The Table and Couch
Beckon. Aware that they are
My future conquests!

This is adorable!

----

Children in Church

A little boy was attending his first wedding. After the service, his cousin asked him, "How many women can a man marry"?

"Sixteen," the boy responded.

His cousin was amazed that he had an answer so quickly.

"How do you know that"?

"Easy," the little boy said. "All you have to do is add it up, like the Bishop said, 4 better, 4 worse, 4 richer, 4 poorer."

---

After a church service on Sunday morning, a young boy suddenly announced to his mother, "Mom, I've decided to become a minister when I grow up."

"That's okay with us, but what made you decide that"?

"Well," said the little boy, "I have to go to church on Sunday anyway, and I figure it will be more fun to stand and yell, than to sit and listen."

---

A six-year-old was overheard reciting the Lord's Prayer at a church service, "And forgive us our trash passes, as we forgive those who passed trash against us."

---

A boy was watching his father, a pastor, write a sermon.

"How do you know what to say"? he asked.

"Why, God tells me."

"Oh, then why do you keep crossing things out"?

---

A little girl became restless as the preacher's sermon dragged on and on. Finally, she leaned over to her mother and whispered, "Mommy, if we give him the money now, will he let us go"?

---

After the christening of his baby brother in church, little Johnny sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car. His father asked him three times what was wrong.

Finally, the boy replied, "That priest said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I want to stay with you guys!"

---

Terri asked her Sunday School class to draw pictures of their favorite Bible stories. She was puzzled by Kyle's picture, which showed four people on an airplane, so she asked him which story it was meant to represent.

"The Flight to Egypt," was his reply.

Pointing at each figure, Ms. Terri said, "That must be Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus. But, who is the fourth person"?

"Oh, that's Pontius the pilot."

---

The Sunday School teacher asks, "Now, Johnny, tell me frankly do you say prayers before eating"?

"No sir," little Johnny replies, "I don't have to. My Mom is a good cook."

---

Pastor Dave Charlton tells us, "After a worship service at First Baptist Church in Newcastle, Kentucky, a mother with a fidgety seven-year old boy told me how she finally got her son to sit still and be quiet. About halfway through the sermon, she leaned over and whispered, "If you don't be quiet, Pastor Charlton is going to lose his place and will have to start his sermon all over again!"

It worked!

---

A little girl was sitting on her grandfather's lap as he read her a bedtime story. From time to time, she would take her eyes off the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled cheek. She was
alternately stroking her own cheek, then his again.

Finally she spoke up, "Grandpa, did God make you"?

"Yes, sweetheart," he answered. "God made me a long time ago."

"Oh," she paused, "Grandpa, did God make me too"?

"Yes, indeed, honey," he said. "God made you just a little while ago."

Feeling their respective faces again, she observed, "God's getting better, isn't he"?
