Dwindling voter support for U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell's re-election bid has put her in a statistical toss-up with her Republican opponent, according to a new poll announced Wednesday.
Rasmussen Reports, an independent national polling firm, said a survey of 500 likely Washington voters June 13 showed the Democratic incumbent leading challenger Mike McGavick 44 percent to 40 percent. The margin of error was plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

If Bob Casey were not the nominee, Rick Santorum would probably be leading. But the same held true for Paula Hawkins (R-FL) in 1986, and it wound up meaning nothing.
PA Democrats have scored a recruiting triumph and there's no getting around it.

I think it's more likely that RI and PA are lost, perhaps MT and MO as well.
All of the potential pickups are very iffy. If all goes well, this will be a least-change election.

Does this poll include the Seattle "Dead Vote"?

Dick Mountjoy in California.. Whoever this guy is, he has the visibility of a submarine and is running against a popular incumbent Democrat in a state with a 2:1 democrat/republican voter registration. That's what translates into the "cant win" analysis, and has nothing to do with his so-called conservative politics.

Well now that's nice. McGavick is using Dino's blueprint for getting to know the folks, and the liberals/ King County are using their blueprint - FRAUDULENT elections - with a little twist by going to "mail in only."
(Sorry if your ballot "got lost".)

Chafee and DeWine are pond scum. They're worst than Dems. you are an idiot for posting this. out of the 44/45 democrat senators, I can not think of 1 that is better than dewine or chaffee. Lieberman is a maybe, but that is it.

The problem is that the PA GOP base is mad at him for supporting Specter. Also, there is the problem that his opponent is the son of a popular conservative Democrat, so everyone assumes that the son will be conservative, even though he's not.

And you're an idiot for backing liberal Republicans.

Instead of launching unfounded and unsupportive insults try defending your statement that chaffee and dewine are worse than democrats when out of the 44/45 democrat senators, I can not think of 1 that is better than dewine or chaffee

The dems are the problem, not the rinos.
The RINOs are a huge problem for the conservatives and libertarians among us. It is difficult to get a right-of-center politician to replace a left-of-center incumbent, e.g., Snarl'n Arlen. RINOs should be replaced with the real McCoy so that in the follow-up election there can be a true test of right versus left.
The RINOs and their friends (46 of'm) as recently as yesterday voted to raise the minimum wage in two steps over 18-months. I had to rely on a few hardcore Rs plus a crap load of RATs (53 of'm) to prevent this alternative, which was done so the whole-lot-of'm could claim to their union friends that they indeed voted to raise the minimum wage.

Not to worry Maria Cantpay. They will keep counting the votes until you win. Yeah, there are plenty of homeless people recruited at DNC headquarters to put her over the top. However many she needs.

What good does it do to get RINOs elected when they vote like Pelosi, Hilarity and Reed (and Reid)? GOP gains nothing electing RINOs.
