Dwindling voter support for U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell's re-election bid has put her in a statistical toss-up with her Republican opponent, according to a new poll announced Wednesday.

Rasmussen Reports, an independent national polling firm, said a survey of 500 likely Washington voters June 13 showed the Democratic incumbent leading challenger Mike McGavick 44 percent to 40 percent. The margin of error was plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

The dems are the problem, not the rinos. Frankly I want to pick up Washington, Maryland and Minnesota, and NJ (menedez)and MI (stabenow), and I want to keep RI and Ohio and PA (santorum), we'll be way way ahead.

Your rino bashing is disgusting. I want to see reid, pelosi, and Hillary, hanging their heads in defeat.

I would GLADLY give up RI and sing "Na-na-na-na, Na-na-na-na, Hey-hey, GOODBYE" to Lincoln Chafee, if we were to offset the loss of his worthless RINO seat by picking up a seat in either Washington or Maryland. I'd love to increase our majority in the Senate, but it does absolutely no good if RINO's like Chafee and Snowe defect and vote with the dems on critical items. So if we lose a RINO seat or two, but offset those seats by picking up other R's over D's, that is perfectly fine with me.

"frankly we may have a shot at 60 or a filibuster proof senate.

As long as Chafee and Snowe are counted among the 60, we don't have a filibuster proof senate. When it comes to ANWR or several other critical items to conservatives, Chafee and Snowe would cross over to side with the dems to support a filibuster.

Harris has no chance, trust me.

It would have been a whole lot better for Crist, Gallagher, or Jeb to run for that seat, but I guess none of them wanted to take on the incumbent.

Don;t forget losing Pennsylvania. Santorum's polling collapsed again when I wasn't looking. :(

For what it's worth I think Santorum will lose, Craig will win, Dewine will win, Chafee will win and Talent will win. I think we have a good chance of picking up 1 and possibly 2 seats among MN, WA, MD or NJ. All in all I think 06' will be a wash in senate. My one cent.

There is another article about the Tennesse vote fraud also in Freeper FRONT PAGE news. Incidents of VOTE FRAUD need to be highly publicized between now and election day in Washington.

It will put pressure on the Democratic party use of corruption in the election. It will also disenfranchise Democratic Voters.

Maybe Freepers across the country can put pressure on Washington state media in this regard.

I agree that the thieves on the coast may try to steal another election. Only difference will be that it is a federal election, and not a state election. Perhaps they will shy away from trying to steal it because of that. On the other hand, their last successful theft may give them the confidence to steal again.

chaffee has shown he does not believe in voting for filibusters.

he consistently voted against filibusters even when he opposed the bill and was on the losing side.

We need to figure out the reality here that any position that advances the number of Democrats in Congress is profoundly contrary to the best interests of Conservatism.

This is not rocket science. When the more liberal of two viable options wins, overall philosophy moves to the left. Period and full stop.

Chafee and DeWine are pond scum. They're worst than Dems.

It's funny how you RNC lovers want conservatives to support your RINOs, but real conservatives running for Senate like Katherine Harris and Dick Mountjoy in California "can't win."

Harris has no chance, trust me.

Yeah, she has no chance.

That's why the FL MSM is starting to write more objective articles about her.

McBride doesn't have a child molester in prison chance of winning.

Cantwell has a built-in 2% advantage because of King County corruption.

That said, it will be fun to see how the brain-dead Cantwell reacts now that she will likely have to start explaining her Senate votes. She can't sit back and do nothing anymore.

Re: GOP governor in VT, I guess there are some glimmers of hope there. But as far as federal elections go, Vermonters seem to prefer far left candidates like Sanders, Jeffords, and Leahy. I think a recent poll showed Sanders far ahead, sad to say.
