Dwindling voter support for U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell's re-election bid has put her in a statistical toss-up with her Republican opponent, according to a new poll announced Wednesday.
Rasmussen Reports, an independent national polling firm, said a survey of 500 likely Washington voters June 13 showed the Democratic incumbent leading challenger Mike McGavick 44 percent to 40 percent. The margin of error was plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

Not to worry Maria Cantpay. They will keep counting the votes until you win.
So if we pick up Washington, Maryland and Minnesota (and maybe Vermont) but lose RI and Ohio, we'll be ahead one seat (or two) and will have lost two RINOS.
The dems are the problem, not the rinos. Frankly I want to pick up Washington, Maryland and Minnesota, and NJ (menedez)and MI (stabenow), and I want to keep RI and Ohio and PA (santorum), we'll be way way ahead.
Your rino bashing is disgusting. I want to see reid, pelosi, and Hillary, hanging their heads in defeat.
No danger of gaining VT, sad to say. I guess they can be written off, along with San Franciso, Berkeley, Seattle and places like that which are hardly part of America anymore.
I'm afraid Santorum isn't going to make it. I just hope Dewine, Talent, and Burns manage to win. Gaining WA, MN, and especially seeing Steele win in MD would be tremendous though.
The latest Zogby poll (yeah, I know) has Santorum within the margin of error of Casey. This may be like the pattern in 1996 and other years, where the Pennsylvania GOP Senatorial candidate does badly in the polls but wis on election night. It also has Swann about 4-6% behind Rendell. A completely different picture than that of the Quinnipiac poll of a few days ago.
frankly we may have a shot at 60 or a filibuster proof senate.
we need to hold dewine and santorum. chaffee wins easily. stabenow is in trouble in MI due to the auto industry. kean wins easily in NJ, still hoping harris pulls a rabbit out of the hat in FL, steele is good in MD, if we can add WA or MN, we get 60.
Come on Washington!! Send her home!! Please elect someone who doesn't take her daily orders from clinton!!
"Your rino bashing is disgusting"
That's a little harsh, since I said nothing about them other than that they might lose. But in any case, they disgust me. I won't shed a tear if Chafee and DeWine lose. They are not conservative and are frequently in the way. We can use an additional conservative on both Judiciary and Foreign Relations (DeWine). I haven't bothered to check what committees Chafee is on. Probably the socialism-type committees like Health, Environment, etc.
I think Santorum's going to pull it out. A Kean win in NJ would be nice to replace a Chafee loss.
sorry to inform you chaffee is ahead by about 20, it's not going to happen.
She's the incumbent, and she polls only 44%?
I'm thinking that the Dems are probably going to have to arrange an "accident" for her.
And Santorum is behind by 20.
Ahead of the democrat or Laffey?
There's a good chance we'll lose Montana.
we need a small miracle to get to 60 but I think harris and santorum while well behind coult pull it out.
dewine is behind right now too as is stabenow (auto industry woes are killing them both).
chaffee and kean are slam dunk winners.
Never trust a QU poll.
Never.
Probably doesn't matter. We elected Governor Dino Rossi, yet he is not our governor now because they kept counting votes and recounting so called "just found write in votes" in a bucket in the janitor's closet, until our Supreme Commissar Kristina Gregwurovich was anointed. Yes, even if he wins, he will lose on the vote count and recount here in the Peoples Homosexual Socialist Liberal Anti-American state of WA. However, I will not be here to see or live through it again. JULY 1ST IS FREEDOM DAY!!!
... chaffee wins easily."
I have to admire your optimism.
Wouldn't it be something if, for the first time, Lincoln Chafee felt more pressure to actually act like a Republican than the liberal jackass he routinely does a great impression of?
Wow. If McGavick unseats Cantwell, it'll be time for Beelzebub to strap on some iceskates.
