THE scientist who led the team that cracked the human genome is to publish a book explaining why he now believes in the existence of God and is convinced that miracles are real.
Francis Collins, the director of the US National Human Genome Research Institute, claims there is a rational basis for a creator and that scientific discoveries bring man closer to God.
His book, The Language of God, to be published in September, will reopen the age-old debate about the relationship between science and faith. One of the great tragedies of our time is this impression that has been created that science and religion have to be at war, said Collins, 56.

Evidently you know what I meant . . . to be more clear . . .
Chinese graphic word characters in early Chinese script, writing--often on turtle shells and bones used in ceremonies.

You don't know the history. It's Darwinists who "don't know the history." They make it up as they go along and then enlist the ACLU to force each new iteration of the atheist catechism on the rest of us.
In light of your peculiar and corrupt faith system, that sits well with you. As Coulter points out, however, a free people find it abominable.

That would be 'a free people finds...'

I'm sorry your alternate dimension is such an unhappy place. :-(

I don't think there's anything more repulsive than a liar, except for a compulsive liar like yourself. The first line of the story says that Collins is going to publish a book explaining why he now believes in the existence of God. If my vocabulary is even below average I would still understand that "NOW" to mean that he didn't believe in God before, and that his ephipany was at least a fairly recent event. From the article: the guy's 56 now and he's believed in God since age 27. No one is claiming it happened any earlier than that.
"Compulsive liar?" Vocabulary would not seem to be the issue here. I bet you don't have the integrity to apologize to Ichneumon.

Some scientists sought nothing less than the total annihilation of religious faith in the wake of Darwinism and Newtonian physics. Rubbish. There has never been a conflict between science and God. The conflict is between science and Earthly religious gatekeepers, who fear that an educated and enlightened congregation might just decide there is no need to pay said gatekeepers a high monthly fee just to scare them them with Hell stories. God gave us brains, and clearly wants us to use them to understand His creation. But the gatekeepers can't have their sheep realizing that.
The situation is an exact parallel to how Democrats treat their inner city black constituents.

Lots of scientists become believers once they understand the precision and complexity of creation, from a galaxy to a cell.
A galaxy compared to a cell is less than a tinkertoy.

It'll send some into spasms anyway, which is quite revelatory of the cult of materialistic scientism.
To me, it's all one as if some hydraulics genius had announced his discovery that water was "powerful wet stuff."

I see Gods hand at work through the mechanism of evolution. If God chose to create human beings in his image and decided that the mechanism of evolution was an elegant way to accomplish that goal, who are we to say that is not the way, he says. Makes perfect sense to me!
Thanks for te ping, TXnMA!

Cop-out? Collins and his religiousity is the whole point of this thread. He has rejected Creationism, despite the fact that he's devout.
