On CTV's Question Period, the Opposition MP's were starting to raise doubts about parts of this police operation, and the word "entrapment" was mentioned in connection with some of the youths.

Stay tuned, it ain't over yet folks ....

Two way radios? Contraband? Is that the latest thing that will get you put on the watch list? How about people who purchase 72 hour emergency kits? Better watch them too.

So how long will it be before the police involved are fired (or worse) and the prospective muslim terrorists get huge damages awards from some leftist judge?

Okay, so what were they going to do with the three tons of fertilizer? House plants? Are these Muslims farmers, or do they operate a feed store?

So now the quantity is up to "3 Tonnes". This morning it was 3000 lbs, now they say it is 6000 lbs. They still don't explain how these people came into possession of that much AN. I keep hearing that they "ordered it" and that the RCMP conducted the raid after the AN was "delivered".

Still too many missing and/or contradictory pieces here...

If the media finds out that any comms got intercepted, y'all are screwed. The claims about only needing 25 kg of fertilizer will be coming soon.... Your law enforcement did very well, and hats off to them. The allegations of torture, abuse, and entrapment are just beginning. Welcome to the party.

"It was their intent to use it for a terrorist attack," said RCMP assistant commissioner Mike McDonell. "If I can put this in context for you, the 1995 bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City that killed 168 people was completed with only one tonne of ammonium nitrate."

Remember in yesterdays Toronto Star how some of the guys were nabbed when crossing the border from the US into Canada because their license plate was entered as being involved with narcotics? I'm thinking even more about Tim McVeigh and his missing license plate.

I can honestly say that up until the names were listed, I had assumed normal Canadians were involved.
That they all sound suspiciously like ROP sandmaggots makes all of this suddenly make sense.

This reminds me about the silliness of protecting terrorists with the same blanket as normal juveniles, by not releasing their names. These are not petty crimes we're dealing with here.

Puhleeze.

If these"youths" could have gotten away with it, they would have. And many Canadians would have met a really nasty fate. Why not catch them before they pull it off?

Watch Harper handle this and learn, GOP. Watch the Canadian libs fall even further in the polls as Harper debates when to call for an election to and win a real majority.

Which opposition MPs? Are the Liberals really stupid enough to turn this into an "entrapment" issue? I'd think most Canadians would be happy to hear that the Canadian authorities are closely monitoring terror cells and preventing terror attacks. What's the big deal? If the alleged perps didn't get the 3 tonnes of fertilizer from police sources, they would have purchased it somewhere else where their actions might not have been as easily monitored.

I can see the Dippers falling into the entrapment brier patch, though.

By the way, this Toronto Red Star story is being mentioned on one of NYC's all-news radio station.

""It is important to know that this operation in no way reflects negatively on any specific community or ethnocultural group in Canada," said Portelance."

. . . , he said, while winking off camera and crossing his fingers behind his back.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The delivery of three tonnes of ammonium nitrate to a group suspected of plotting terrorist attacks in southern Ontario was part of an undercover police sting operation, the Toronto Star has learned.

The RCMP said yesterday that after investigating the alleged homegrown terrorist cell for months, they had to move quickly Friday night to arrest 12 men and five youths before the group could launch a bomb attack on Canadian soil.

Sources say investigators who had learned of the group's alleged plan to build a bomb were controlling the sale and transport of the massive amount of fertilizer, a key component in creating explosives. Once the deal was done, the RCMP-led anti-terrorism task force moved in for the arrests."
----

OPINION:

1. No person needs to purchase 3 tons of fertilizer for your garden. If you're not a farmer with extreme acreage or a fertilizer store; you' re probably a bad guy.

2. Sting operations are not "entrapment."

3. The "youths" seem to be pretty intelligent from what little we have learned from the news accounts. They didn't look trapped to me, unless they set a trap for themselves.

Listened to one Canadian Muslim spokesman on FOX this morning who said the leader of this group had essentially taken charge of a mosque and started preaching extremist Wahabism (sp). This may be where some of the other suspects came from.

Of course it was entrapment. They only ordered a bag of nitrate for their gardens and they received 3 Ton!

Shame on those nasty police officers!

(Sting every rag head you can men!!!!)

BTW there is no Fruit of the Poison Tree doctrine in Canadian criminal law. Illegally obtained evidence IS admissable in a court of law, and the issue of entrapment goes only to the weight to be given said evidence.
