Was the 2004 Election Stolen? (by RFKjr)
Rolling Stone ^ | 6/1/06 | ROBERT F. KENNEDY JR.

Posted on 06/01/2006 12:06:42 PM PDT by finnman69

Like many Americans, I spent the evening of the 2004 election watching the returns on television and wondering how the exit polls, which predicted an overwhelming victory for John Kerry, had gotten it so wrong. By midnight, the official tallies showed a decisive lead for George Bush -- and the next day, lacking enough legal evidence to contest the results, Kerry conceded. Republicans derided anyone who expressed doubts about Bush's victory as nut cases in ''tinfoil hats,'' while the national media, with few exceptions, did little to question the validity of the election. The Washington Post immediately dismissed allegations of fraud as ''conspiracy theories,''(1) and The New York Times declared that ''there is no evidence of vote theft or errors on a large scale.''(2)

But despite the media blackout, indications continued to emerge that something deeply troubling had taken place in 2004. Nearly half of the 6 million American voters living abroad(3) never received their ballots -- or received them too late to vote(4) -- after the Pentagon unaccountably shut down a state-of-the-art Web site used to file overseas registrations.(5) A consulting firm called Sproul & Associates, which was hired by the Republican National Committee to register voters in six battleground states,(6) was discovered shredding Democratic registrations.(7) In New Mexico, which was decided by 5,988 votes,(8) malfunctioning machines mysteriously failed to properly register a presidential vote on more than 20,000 ballots.(9) Nationwide, according to the federal commission charged with implementing election reforms, as many as 1 million ballots were spoiled by faulty voting equipment -- roughly one for every 100 cast.(10)

Ok let's break this out. Kennedy says Republicans prevented 357,000 voters from voting or having their votes counted.

He estimates 174,000 were not able to vote due to long lines. No. 174,000 (a highly inflated number to be sure) potential voters did not vote. End of story. If voters did not wait in line to vote or vote by mail, that's their fault.

72,000 not registered to vote due to registration errors. Again, the reponsibility falls on the voter to confirm they are correctly registered.

30,000 voters purged for not voting in previous elections. If you have not voted in more than two elections, you should verify yourself you are registered to vote.

10,000 voters discarded for standing in the wrong line. Too stupid to be allowed to vote.

5,000 turned away by GOP challengers. If they were turned away, they were not registered or valid voters.

So out of that big dramatic and inflated 357,000 potential voters that leaves 66,000 votes 'lost by 'faulty' voting machines. Even if I was generous and assumed there were some problems with voting machines, I would be the majority of this was due to idiot voters.

Kennedy says 357,000 votes

A better question would be, Was the 1960 Election Stolen? (by JFK)

No. But the 1992 and 1996 elections were.

And so were the 1948, 1960, 1964, and 1976 elections.

Lets have a look see at all those Democrat controlled Precincts that turned in 100% Democrat votes Robbie. You scum are the masters at illegal voting. You do NOT want this rock turned over Robbie. WE don't steal elections. We don't have to. You people have a long history of criminal Election Fraud. You better be careful making unsubtatiated, baseless accusations like this Robbie.

And here in the Peoples Republic of Wisconsin, we had a few THOUSAND cases of voter fraud.........fortunately they were all in Kerry's favor to it didn't count.

Dims like Kennedy are really frustrated when they cheat to throw an election and they still can't win.

Does the article mention who ran the voting in these suspect districts? Was it all Republicans? I doubt it.

What horse manure!

Long lines didn't stop either myself or my husband from voting that day. Long lines didn't stop the several people who stood in those lines to vote! And I'm in a BLUE county, Montgomery!

This is just more of the same garbage from Demoshills, mad because their man didn't win. End of discussion!

In Arizona there were long lines that took three or four hours to get through. There was even food brought in. People really wanted to vote and stayed in those lines. So, long lines are a sorry excuse. Especially when people will stand longer to wait for tickets to an event.
