Former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry said on Thursday he was seriously thinking about another White House bid in 2008 and will decide before the year is out.
"I will make that decision toward the end of the year, but I'm thinking about it hard," Kerry said in response to a question at the Latin Economic Forum at the United Nations.
"If you can get help me find 60,000 votes in Ohio ...," he joked, referring to the close race in that state on which his 2004 loss to President Bush hinged.
Kerry, a U.S. senator from Massachusetts, has criticized Bush on a range of issues, particularly the war in Iraq.
On Thursday, he focused on Latin America, saying Bush lost interest in the region after the September 11 attacks.
"Relations between the United States and Latin America today are at their lowest point since the end of the Cold War," Kerry said.
Other Democrats seen as potentially seeking the nomination include U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner and Kerry's former running mate, John Edwards.
Agreed. Saw McCain speak in Iowa a few weeks back and immediately thought how well he did. Sounded like a real conservative, reasonable, calm. Hit all the right buttons. If you hadn't followed him, analyzed his behavior, what bills he's sponsored, you'd be fooled into thinking, What's not to like? And he's raised tons of dough and hired many ex Bush campaign staffers. He'll be tough. We'll have to stay focused.
Hey John .. ya going mortgage your house again?
Which ONE???
>>I'd agree with you in a heartbeat, except for that Kerry/NH appearance on C-Span a few weeks back. Small room, party faithful...and they weren't jumping with joy about Kerry. He has to win NH to have credibility, and they treated him as if he had leprosy. When the speech (he groveled), the lackluster, lame applause ended, he leaped off the dias and tried to press the flesh...(he was being filmed.) He found three people willing to speak to him.<<
Very interesting...If Hillary, Kerry and Gore are all damaged I wonder who will emerge...
'Trying evaluate Kerry's chances - I'd say better than Gore because Kerry didn't whine as much and better than Hillary because he has lower negatives."
If Kerry runs, you can bet that the 180 that was never fully released will expose Kerry as a traitorous buffoon who got 3 purple hearts because of a piece of metal in his tushy.
His 20 years of ineffectiveness will be bandied about by the Slimes as Hillary only has 6 years of ineffectiveness, but she is getting there.
"Work harder getting moonbat votes Kerry - it's your best shot."
Funny thing is, Whether it is Hillary or Kerry, they are not winning any more states then they won last time. Gore at least had a shot with Florida, although the military vote would have made it a non-contest.
I put my money on Gore/Richardson or Richarsson/Warner.
I'd like to see Kerry, a sure loser, run, but I don't know if it would be worth two years of hearing him whine.
And Howie Carr mentioned that he's scheduled to speak at some "anti-Bush" bash tomorrow . . . I guess it's here in Boston, but I don't know the details.

Interesting but usually the effect of things like that are diminished the second time around unless the new info is a bombshell.
If Bill Clinton were running for office and we found out he had another affair would it really change anybody's mind about him?
He's burning WAY TOO MANY BTUs on this.
It won't be long now before he throws the circut breaker in his Medula oblongata.
I wonder, too, and God help us if some democrat appears on the scene who talks sense. This morning, C-Span callers are angry with Bush about his apology to Hu of China. A dem called up and said the administration was 'criminal'. Every day it's a drumbeat of Hate Bush, Hate republicans, Iraq's a lost cause, they're wrecking the country, etc.. And rising gas prices might just tip the balance. Republicans, whomever we choose, have to stick together.
When this teddie suckup releases ALL of his military records from the Vietnam era he may - yes may be considered seriously.
Kerry is a joke foisted on the country by the ignorant voters of Massachusetts.
I hope the SOB tries to run, so we can expose him once again as a traitor.
Kerry 'thinking hard' about 2008 run for president
