Just a reminder: Free Republic is a conservative site

Posted on 04/11/2006 3:33:35 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Just a reminder: Free Republic is a conservative site. We fight for conservative principles, values and causes. We defend the Constitution. We defend our borders. We defend our God-given rights. We are opposed to the liberal/socialist/Marxist agenda for America. We do not willingly give up ground to the Marxists.

It's true that the illegal immigration issue is very discouraging, and I don't know if anyone has a solution that will appeal to conservatives and yet manage to get by Democrat obstructionism, ie, a filibuster, but I don't see that as any reason to give up everything. We should not allow it to rip us apart and destroy the movement. We fight on.

We hold the majority. We continue working as hard as we possibly can to elect as many conservatives as we possibly can. We build a conservative majority that can overcome the Democrats and the RINOs. We do not willingly give up any seats to Democrats. We add seats. Preferably, conservative seats.

I would also like to remind everyone, that Free Republic does not condone racism and does not advocate violence. We exercise our first amendment rights to free speech and peaceable assembly. We do not condemn people because of their race, religion, ethnicity, skin color, etc. We do not advocate civil war, anarchy, or an overthrow of the government. We do not advocate shooting illegals or mining the borders. We do not appreciate people coming across our borders illegally, but as conservatives, we do not issue racial epithets or threaten them with violence or bodily harm.

And, yes, we are at war. And we do support our troops and their mission. We also respect our commander-in-chief and are mindful that when people disrespect him, it hurts troop morale. We do not appreciate the mainstream media's attempts to destroy America's will to fight and we do not do anything to assist the Democrats and their accomplices in the media in their treasonous mission of undermining the war effort by providing aid and comfort to the enemy.

And despite our dissatisfaction and disappointments in regards to the illegal immigration issue, we recognize that it is not the last issue on earth and there are plenty of other reasons not to allow the Marxist Democrats to retake power.

I'll list a few issues (by no means and exhaustive list) that will be adversely affected by Marxist/Democrats in power:

Islamofascism/terrorism
National Security/Defense
The United Nations (as in their control over us)
The Supreme Court
The federal judiciary
The legislative agenda
The right to life
Marriage between one man, one woman
The family
Education
Health care
Private property
Taxation
Oil/energy
The right to keep and bear arms
The right to freedom of religion
The right to self-governance
All of our God-given rights
The Constitution
The Republic
Liberty itself

Do not get so discouraged that we give it all up. It could take generations to get it back. If ever.

"Securing the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity" is our duty.

What we all fight for is positive movement towards conservatism...we already won part of the battle with the open borders liberals by getting the damn Mexican flags put aside...the republican leadership can not win this PR battle on the merits, that illegal is what it is, the dems have an issue they think can win in November...I disagree, I think that leadership by repubs to close the border, biometric ID's and a very strong workout plan for those illegals in this country, that insures we identify all that are here, and give these very hard working people strict guidelines and requirement to citizenship that assimilates them into the great American culture...let republicans be liberal with the mess Clinton and the dims worked hard to create, and turn this lemon into lemonade!!!

I wish I had phrased my first post differently.
My point is the "protection"by the mods afforded the evos
on FR that no other group is allowed. Especially
Christians. If you don't believe it just read the threads
they are allowed to ridicule, make fun of and call
names that gets other suspended or banned.

If we can't (or won't) control who comes into our country, we have lost our country.

Secure the borders, build a fence, and revise the immigration law to cherry pick those people we want here.

I suspect that they merely identified themselves as "progressives

Well put. They aren't satisfied with having 'progressed' all the way back to Soddom and similar slavery to feelings, emotions, whims and urges.

Let's be honest that makes no common sense at all, we elect congressmen to deal with National issues.

What makes no sense is your posts saying Perot encouraged more Republican victories in the Congress. Perot had NOTHING to do with that whatsoever, no matter how hard you try to revise history.

What is abundantly clear is that Perot was a "spoiler" that helped Clinton to two terms in the White House. That's all that needs to be said.

and not all evolutionist are liberals.

At times, I get annoyed by the word 'evolutionist' that those who believe in divine creation use so easily. - needlessly inflamatory

I am a firm believer in Scientific methodology and I am certainly not liberal trash.

Thank you for pointing that out here.

You said: I don't see any reason to fear the evolutionists. I have faith in the Creator.
***

My sentiments exactly. What evolutionists, or any detractors of God, might say changes nothing about the truth as our faith holds. I may disagree, and feel saddened, for them, but I have no fear of them. The fact that they insult and attack Christians is the clear indicator of who fears whom...

Well done, good and faithful servant...

I think the point usmcobra is making is that the 1994 elections were a direct reaction against Clinton's policies: a repudiation of the administration, as it were.

If there had been no Clinton policies to repudiate at the ballot box, congress would have just kept humming along as it had for decades, with the Dems in control.

Try to replace RINOs with more worthy candidates, probably keep the RINOs in the cobalt blue states as they help us achieve a majority that lets us control the committees, rather than kennedy kerry durbin pelosi schummer clinton etc etc.

Who is 'us'? Us conservatives or us republicans? Obviously, 'us' conservatives do not have a majority, with the likes of Chafee Snowe Specter McCain etc etc, so you must be talking about 'us' Republicans, whose majority I'm much less interested in.

Well, as long as we're chit-chatting about candidates, let me throw in that I've been supporting Katherine Harris's run for the Senate in Florida, even though the Bush thinktank doesn't think she can win.

Any opinions here on her politics and her chances in November?
