Just a reminder: Free Republic is a conservative site. We fight for conservative principles, values and causes. We defend the Constitution. We defend our borders. We defend our God-given rights. We are opposed to the liberal/socialist/Marxist agenda for America. We do not willingly give up ground to the Marxists.
It's true that the illegal immigration issue is very discouraging, and I don't know if anyone has a solution that will appeal to conservatives and yet manage to get by Democrat obstructionism, ie, a filibuster, but I don't see that as any reason to give up everything. We should not allow it to rip us apart and destroy the movement. We fight on.
We hold the majority. We continue working as hard as we possibly can to elect as many conservatives as we possibly can. We build a conservative majority that can overcome the Democrats and the RINOs. We do not willingly give up any seats to Democrats. We add seats. Preferably, conservative seats.
I would also like to remind everyone, that Free Republic does not condone racism and does not advocate violence. We exercise our first amendment rights to free speech and peaceable assembly. We do not condemn people because of their race, religion, ethnicity, skin color, etc. We do not advocate civil war, anarchy, or an overthrow of the government. We do not advocate shooting illegals or mining the borders. We do not appreciate people coming across our borders illegally, but as conservatives, we do not issue racial epithets or threaten them with violence or bodily harm.
And, yes, we are at war. And we do support our troops and their mission. We also respect our commander-in-chief and are mindful that when people disrespect him, it hurts troop morale. We do not appreciate the mainstream media's attempts to destroy America's will to fight and we do not do anything to assist the Democrats and their accomplices in the media in their treasonous mission of undermining the war effort by providing aid and comfort to the enemy.
And despite our dissatisfaction and disappointments in regards to the illegal immigration issue, we recognize that it is not the last issue on earth and there are plenty of other reasons not to allow the Marxist Democrats to retake power.
I'll list a few issues (by no means and exhaustive list) that will be adversely affected by Marxist/Democrats in power:
Islamofascism/terrorism
National Security/Defense
The United Nations (as in their control over us)
The Supreme Court
The federal judiciary
The legislative agenda
The right to life
Marriage between one man, one woman
The family
Education
Health care
Private property
Taxation
Oil/energy
The right to keep and bear arms
The right to freedom of religion
The right to self-governance
All of our God-given rights
The Constitution
The Republic
Liberty itself
Do not get so discouraged that we give it all up. It could take generations to get it back. If ever.
"Securing the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity" is our duty.
Same with all the issues - look at how the illegal immigration deal has ballooned out to a thousand different sides and even turned many Freepers against the Prez, when he is just trying to get at least a start on the problem, that has a chance of getting through the Congress. It should be obvious to all, by now, that it is the Congress that won't allow any substantial reform to happen and that it even goes so far as to try to punish those in the INS that would have the nerve to try to enforce the current laws.
God Bless
Conservatism won't win without the help of the Republican party. The GOP, be as it may, is probably the closest thing to actually give a boost to the conservative movement. You will find it in third parties, but name a candidate in Washington that belongs to a third party.
Don't bother looking for conservatives in the democrat party, none exist.
i don't know anyone on this site that is advocating impeachment... thats would be the dumbest thing ever.
WOW, i haven't ran across those threads, wonder what their logic for such nonsense is.
I understand that you will not comment, and that is fine. Obviously I never expected to begin with that you could justify your baseless allegation.
I simply pinged you as a courtesy because I was referring to you in my post to Echo Talon. As you wish, I don't intend to discuss this any further.
I was born in California and most of my family is here. My wife was born here. My parents and two of my sisters are buried here. Her parents are buried here. California is our home.
Murtha, is that you?
Will you ever run out of graphics to use? LOL
As you wish, I don't intend to discuss this any further.
Thank you.
It's perhaps just a pendantic point, but you have to start with conservative principles, then get republicans (or the occasional democrat) to fit those. Otherwise, you end up with a party of lobbyists and hacks who mouth an occasional conservative platitude.
They were all over the immigration threads. I don't know what their logic is, but I can assure you, impeaching this president will only embolden the liberal/Marxist movement, and will only happen when the democrats control both houses of Congress.
I guess, not.
Thank you.
My sentiments exactly.
thanks, i didn't notice post 78 it in the thread
Excellent points
You're quite welcome, and have a nice day!
PS. And so far as the actual topic of the thread, the only Republican I've attacked in a very long time is McCain, and I completely detest McCain and that will never change no way no how. So that's all I have to say about that!
Bush is, at best, a moderate Republican. He's not running any more. The fight now is with the "native criminal class" (to borrow a phrase from Mark Twain) in Congress. We have an opportunity this November to set things straight.
They refuse to take into account the economic impact that displacing a workforce will cause
LOL! Revealed your opinion is! :^)
Those immigrants are doing EXACTLY that to AMERICAN workers, and don't rant on that they are doing jobs that we don't want.
What they HAVE done is lowered the pay in those jobs so far that nobody living here and raising a family can afford to work in them anymore, while a great deal of that money goes straight back to Mexico.
And THAT is a reasonable, thoughtful manner, that also happens to include Americans!
