Click for our National Anthem! (remove your caps please!)
Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there. O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep, Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream: 'T is the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand, Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation; Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us as a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause is just, And this be our motto: "In God is our trust" And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

I'm excited and it sounds like you are, too. We have gotten nearly an inch...which is very good for our deserty conditions. WOOHOO! Hope y'all get enough to satisfy the cotten and wheat farmers up there. They were praying HARD!

I am actually happy to see pools of water on the streets - this is a sign that the soil is getting saturated.

Hello, Lady Jag:
Your photo has been whispering to me since you posted it
Katski, come out and play!!
I had spent the day on the Diamond Run
Watching bundled up Humans trying to ski is fun
And riding down hill on their shoulders, more fun than that
Because everyone wants to ride the Ski Lift with the Lodge's cat
It was a wonderful day of Ups and Downs
When dark thick clouds rolled across the mountains and towards the town
When the Humans wisely decided they'd had enough fun for a day
Then moved down the ridge in an orderly array
We all rushed from the Ski Lifts and made our way
Around the Lodge's fire place without delay
Shaking off snow and ice, when I heard a feline voice
Implore teasingly, "Katski, come out and play!!"
My ears turned to the voice and I was off in a bound
Through the front door. Snow swirled in the icy mist with a whispering sound
When I found Fiona, her fur and whiskers shimmering with frost and ice
As she leaped and plunged into a snow drift, her secret vice
Leaping and jumping from holes in loose snow
Soon kept me warm as I decided to go
After Fiona all around the Lodge and Chateaus
Our breath making fleecy steam in the silvery glow
When Fiona's Fun Meter had finally been pegged
We drifted into the Lodge, it was far beneath her to beg
For the Towel rubs and attention by the roaring fire place
Accepting it all with sublime Feline grace

Hello Jack,
Sometimes (most times) you are such a mystery to me....;)
To: Jack Deth
Do you ever get tired of my being amazed and impressed by your wonderful poetry? I hope not, because I'm compelled to say what I feel!
That's a photo of Inga, who is/was one of the cats who lives at the observatory on the top of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. They have nasty winters up there, but the cats don't seem to mind too much.
