Ann Coulter...was definitely Fridays biggest draw at CPAC 2006.
From the get-go the conservative columnist had the crowd cheering and was frequently interrupted by applause.
Many of Coulters talking points came from recent news events -- such as the great Danish cartoon caper and President Bushs Supreme Court nominees.
Muslims are the only group who kill because people call them violent, she said of Islams rage over the printing of Muhammad cartoons.
Speaking about the nation's highest court, Coulter not only expressed elation at Justice Samuel Alitos confirmation, she also shared her feelings on Chief Justice John Roberts ...
She had fun impersonating Sen. Hillary Clinton, mocking Clintons MLK Day remarks on the slave plantation in the House of Representatives, adding: And you know what Im talkin about, girlfriend.
I can say that by the way, Coulter said. My party freed the slaves.
Democrats have three major planks, she explained: Abortion on demand, gay marriage and banning the Boy Scouts.
Someday theyll find a way to combine them all and figure out how to abort all future Boy Scouts.

I dunno, but with that menu you can sure have my address.
If Coulter looked like Janet Reno, you "principled conservatives" would have kicked her to the curb eight years ago.
Which just proves which head you're using to determine who's a "principled conservative."

And somehow I'M the one who's sophomoric? When was the last time you were right about anything?
I am convinced that your IQ is similar to that of your fellow Texan Ms. Meiers. I described her IQ back then as "room temperature." If the shoe fits...
Oh, leave him alone; apparently it's all his has in life, as he posts that 24/7.
Pretty telling, IMO.
Horse*h*t.
Miers has class. Those of you who were ridiculing her looks, her single status, her education were engaged in the same kind of character assassination that is a Coulter trademark.
She quit. We've got a fine Supreme Court justice now. But the DHs who continue to fight that battle, who gloat because they managed to destroy Miers, won't let it go.
Perhaps you can act your age going forward, PB, not your shoe size.
bttt
I think AC is brilliant.
And as an aside, she was the front-runner conservative who spearheaded the rebellion against Janet Meirs.
And you know the rest of the story. Bush has appointed two slam-dunk nominees to the SCOTUS since.
She is one of the very few pundits and commentators who seems to have an effective voice speaking for true conservatives.
Bush doesn't speak for me. Rove doesn't speak for me. I have no problem with AC doing so.
I never attacked her looks...as a matter of fact, I never attacked her.
I posted her writings from the Texas Legal organization that she presided over and commented on them. Her writings were banal, terribly organized and sounded like they were written by a second level adminstrator in the post office who was obsessed about political correctness.
But why am I wasting time and electrons on you? You never respond to the substance of a post whenever someone contradicts you, you just go with your idiotic personal attacks.
You have proven yourself over and over again to match your idol Harriet Meiers' run of the mill mind. I can see why you liked her.
You, however, are pathetic; she is not--since she had the good sense to finally STFU.
I guaran-friggin-tee you, that's not Clarence Thomas or Antonin Scalia.
Coulter/Condi '08!!!

Conservative yes. Repeater of cute little mantras, no
I think AC is brilliant.
You and every one of the other 'faithful' that think she can do no wrong
And as an aside, she was the front-runner conservative who spearheaded the rebellion against Janet Meirs. And you know the rest of the story. Bush has appointed two slam-dunk nominees to the SCOTUS since.
Yes I know the rest of the story. Two judges that from their past rulings will agree with the administration and the national government on about everything. So much for states' rights. Conservatives? They may have a conservative ruling in them but neither one of them is a Justice Thomas. At least with Miers conservatives (not Republicans) weren't sure what her stance was on most things. At least it would have been suprising to see who she'd side with. With these two there's no question.
She is one of the very few pundits and commentators who seems to have an effective voice speaking for true conservatives.
Oh yes, I know the person I want to speak for conservatives makes snide comments about other cultures and has pies thrown in her face. But I suppose that's a mark of intelligence somehow...
Bush doesn't speak for me. Rove doesn't speak for me. I have no problem with AC doing so.
Don't see why not. She's parroting administration talking points. Perhaps with a little less couth and her one liners aren't all that funny
If you think Ann Coulter is either a BABE or an intellectual, then you might be a redneck! ;-)
Oh, don't I know that. And thank the lord for it, too. I'm just not sure about the latest two additions. Alito's wife is a delicate flower, it seems, so maybe she will want to be one of the in-crowd and put pressure on him -- I hope not. Roberts is an unknown quantity. O'Connor increasingly slid leftwards (last gasp exception was her stalwart dissent on the Kelo case). Wouldn't it be interesting if the new "swing vote" slide rightwards and threw everyone for a loop! Maybe the in-crowd will become the conservatives.
Fear not. I have real good feelings about both of them. (Remember that Roberts clerked for, and was a protege of, William Rehnquist, who never faltered.) As for Alito and his wife, do they look to you like they are the slightest bit interested in trolling the cocktail party circuit? They look to me like they would be infinitely more comfortable watching TV. And anyway, IIRC, Alito's wife is herself a conservative lawyer.
Whatever - in her dreams.
Amplifying idiocy convinces only hard of hearing idiots.
I am with you!
