"U.S. agents had been investigating the possibility of an elaborate drug-smuggling tunnel between Tijuana and San Diego for more than a year, but couldn't find it despite using military equipment so advanced it's classified"
~snip
"This tunnel beats them all, said Michael Unzueta, special agent in charge of the San Diego office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, "
~snip
"People are always going to find a way around us, he said."

"Any one of those tunnel workers can drop a dime to ICE or the FBI, and get a big $$$ reward."
The latest announements on San Diego Radio and TV says to drop a dime and we'll pick you up and keep you alive .... word is the bad guys want to kill everyone who knows anything about it.
All nonsense.
"All nonsense."
Well, Hey Moe Whoo, Whoo, Whoo, Nyuck Nyuck Nyuck to you too :-)
"Where is the *logic* in fighting an enemy across the ocean while simultaneously allowing that SAME enemy to stream unchecked into your home camp?"
Sorry for the late reply, but just why do you assume that terrorists are being allowed to "stream unchecked into your home camp" ?
I assume the digging was done from the Mex side, with a cover business. Hence the warehouse, providing literal and business cover for machines, heavy equipment etc.
I love it when these OBL morons keep threads bumped which make our case.
"I assume the digging was done from the Mex side, with a cover business."
Obviously you did not read or comprehend the article -
"It's possible they got lost.
The tunnel from Tijuana goes north for hundreds of feet. Inside the United States, it intersects with a second tunnel coming in from the Otay Mesa warehouse. The main tunnel continues for about 100 feet before coming to a dead end. "
"I love it when these OBL morons keep threads bumped which make our case."
You should be greatful if this were true, you seem to have a major problem making a case on your own.
BTW, what's the OBL stand for ?
OBL sometimes stands for Osama, at other times it stands for "One big liar".
"OBL sometimes stands for Osama, at other times it stands for "One big liar"."
... and it's application here is ?
I guess if one is generous then it is Osama Bin Laden.
LOL - I've been called a lot, but this is the most outrageous - congradulations !
BTW - OBL also is short for OB lager, a good South Korean beer
I disagree with your "opinion"....... what experience do you base your claim ?
"I disagree with your "opinion"....... what experience do you base your claim ?"
What experience do you base your disagreement on ?
A losers argument to answer a question with a question..... I thought you may have had a valid point or two....sorry to bother.
"But it does nothing about the drug smuggling and the "terrorists coming across from Mexico" paranoia."
Yeah it will remain paranoia up until the time a mushroom cloud goes up over New York.
BTTT
Personally I would prefer to see a canal dug from San Diego to the Gulf of Mexico.
Kill 2 birds with one stone, get a replacement for our bought and paid and given away panama canal, plus create a largely effective barrier along the southern border. Too deep to dig under, too wide and dangerous to swim across. Actually would solve 3 things.
Provide water to those wandering in the desert. A bit salty to be sure, but it's still water.
Exactly right Travis. Excellent post.
Right on mark!
