"This "billion-dollar boondoggle" will pay dividends in perpetuity. It's a fraction of what Illegals cost California alone for one year."
Nope, the "billion-dollar boondoggle" will cost billions more in perpetuity.
Enforcement of existing laws against hiring and deportation of ALL illegals will cost less and diminish the problem over time.
Most excellet reasoning as to why that's a drug smuggling tunnel. Illegal aliens would end up gossiping and blowing the whole scheme. Thus no (very few) illegal aliens got to slide through.
According to the article I posted yesterday -
"Based on tips, U.S. officials began investigating the possibility of a tunnel in the area in 2004."
... so it appears that it was in operation for some time.
and this tunnel is what has been found....what else is out there...?
okay, RS, there you go with your lies again. I refer you to my previous post where I pointed out a well-known example of exactly that happening in Texas. Are you still shoveling your shinola to people, even though you've been called on it?
It's time for you to stop pushing lies, my FRiend.
Oh, and by the way, I only posted that to you and the person you responded to.
Do it again, and I'll point out your dishonesty to the entire list.
"and this tunnel is what has been found....what else is out there...?"
so true - and the bad guys are busy thinking up new stuff - UAVs are not out of the question by the time we get this multi-billion dollar, tunnel sensing, The Fence in place.
BTW - There was a mini-sub being towed from Mexico up here that was "lost" a few weeks back - with luck it's at the bottom, but who's to say the druggies don't have it ? They were caught attempting to build one some years ago.
Plus, if the illegals are forced to use tunnels we can surely find a way to cave the tunnels in at both ends and then flood them. Tunnels would fall out of favor real fast.
"Do it again, and I'll point out your dishonesty to the entire list."
LOL - "do it again " .... Sorry, but I haven't got time to read or respond to each and every post ... or perhaps what you said was simply not important enough to rate a response.
Feel free to post whatever you wish to the entire FR community.
I'm getting a real laugh from your inane posts. Keep up the good work.
Negative. Look around, see all those fences used to protect and separate property. Have you any idea why a fence is performing that function instead of several human beings.
*clue*....it's cheaper....
Agreed. Big fences will just lead to big ladders.
Stop alien employment.
They just keep whacking away.
Reminds me of an old Wings episode. The hapless maintenance guy is attempting to repair a light fixture. He raises his screwdriver to the device and is promptly shocked. Squeals in pain, shakes it off, raises his screwdriver again, and history is repeated, again and again. All the while, bewildered onlookers stare in amusement until, one by one, they shrug and walk away.
FAA ESTABLISHES 300-NM TFR ON SOUTHERN U.S. BORDER
The FAA has established a "temporary" flight restriction (TFR) along the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona and New Mexico. The TFR is in effect from 12,000 to 14,000 feet and is active from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. daily. What makes it so ominous is its size and duration. The 300-nm-long corridor, 17-nm wide in most places, is to prevent U.S. Customs and Border Patrol unmanned surveillance aircraft (UAVs) from colliding with other civilian aircraft. But this TFR hardly seems "temporary." It's scheduled to be in effect until December 31 and will likely be renewed next year. "Even though the TFR is limited to 12,000 to 14,000 feet and evening and night hours, AOPA believes that the use of 'temporary' large-scale flight restrictions for yearlong UAV operations is not appropriate," said Andy Cebula, AOPA executive vice president of government affairs. "We are appealing to the FAA and security officials for less restrictive alternatives for these types of operations." AOPA staff met with FAA and security officials last Friday to find alternatives to the current use of large TFRs to protect UAV flights. See AOPA Online.
"I'm getting a real laugh from your inane posts. Keep up the good work."
Glad I've kept you amused, but do you have anything to add ?
"Have you any idea why a fence is performing that function instead of several human beings."
So your point is that we should not bother to enforce the laws against those who break them, the Americans that cause the problem by hiring the illegals - since that would take people to enforce, courts to convict and prisons to hold them ?
Tunnel ping
"The illegals are bankrupting our schools and hospitals here in California. A fence would be a great way to slow it down."
The illegals are bankrupting us because our idiot elected officials let them - Get rid of the bleeding hearts in the government and toss out EVERY illegal, and you can forget those costs.
No, that's your assumption. The fence AND guard personnel is the answer at the border. The fence is just an effective tool.
The key is to keep as many as possible from getting across to begin with. Once here, it is many times more complicated and costly to remove them.
