TEHRAN, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Iran has reportedly begun moving its assets from European banks in an effort to protect its supplies of foreign exchange from sanctions.
"We transfer foreign currency reserves related to all sectors including oil foreign exchanges to wherever it is good for us and we have started this transfer," Ebrahim Sheibani, governor of Iran's central bank, told the Iranian Student News Agency.
The International Atomic Energy Authority has scheduled a meeting Feb. 2 to discuss whether to refer Iran to the U.N. Security Council. The country could face sanctions for re-starting its uranium enrichment program.
Time to move some bunker busters into Iran.
The real question is..... Will Iran pull it's money out of the DNC
The Iranian Mullocracy is counting its last days...
They are playing this like they think they have all the cards in the world.
They are not that smart, and their ignorance is dangerous.
Plans are ready and timing is everything. This rouge state is on borrowed time.
Most likely they will funnel more funds in --- lol!
Well...you would think they aren't that smart. So far, they have beaten the US and Europe at every corner. There won't be a UN sanction effort because the Chinese and Russians are already sleeping with Iran, and with China depending on their oil...China won't dare go against them. As for technology...it used to be the US, Russia, or Europe that you'd go to...but now those dang North Koreans and Pakastanis have the engineers and capabilites...so you can't stop information flow. The US military is bogged down in Iraq...and with Iran funneling suicide bombers and bombs right into Iraq...there is no way for the US to poise itself for a military action into Iran.
I'd say the Iranians have been fairly smart. By moving their cash out of Europe...they have prevented any cash problems when the UN finally does get to that point. Face it...which was the worse problem...Iraq with Saddam in charge or a nuclear Iran? Our CIA guys should have known four years ago that Iran was moving this direction, and this should have been our number one issue.
Allegations of governments themselves counterfeiting U.S. banknotes have surfaced in the past. In 1992, a U.S. House of Representatives task force released a report alleging that Iran and Syria formed a conspiracy to counterfeit U.S. dollars in order to strengthen Iran's economy and weaken the United States. Speaking at a press conference on 1 July 1992, Representative Bill McCollum stated: "The fact of the matter is that the Iranian government, in cooperation with Syria, has undertaken a massive counterfeiting campaign in order to alleviate their financial difficulties and pursue economic warfare against the West."
Should've frozen their assets in the middle of the night. We're going to get nuked will we're sitting around playing nice and mulling official censures with these Iranian psychos. They think they're too good to play by the rules, so the rule book should be out the window in how we deal with these clowns. Too bad Europe is totally gutless and telegraphs every move 6 months before they do it.
Good thoughts, but that's where you went wrong. The media will tell you different, but we do have a military that can walk and chew gum at the same time! Our military planners can, too.
I also believe the enemy's historical inter-Islamic, Shia-Sunni conflicts, have been placed on the far back burner (except in Iraq), and the Islamic enemy as a whole, is sharing future anti-Western plots& fully cooperating with each other, focusing their diabolical efforts on possibly staging another wave of deadly terrorist attacks, world-wide - if we don't take them out first.
Our options are obvious, to hit this enemy hard, with the full intent on inflicting the maximum about of damage possible, including overthrown the dictatorships of both Iran and Syria, while Israel focuses on targeting Iranian and Syrian jihadists proxies groups as in Hamas, Islamic Jihid, and Hizballah.
We shall soon witness the realities of highly effective jointly coordinated anti-terrorist counter measures, on a scale never seen previously. The bad guys should have never started their little jihad.
It could very well be that they realize that with radical Islam not being tolerated and lots of Iranians found fighting in Iraq, eventually they had next.
Could be they are attempting to either do this on their terms or to get us going after them when we are occupied elsewhere so we are spread thin.
Is a fact that the leader of Iran is a terrorist and figures this is the last time to try and resist the war on terror and us. I agree with you.
Where will it be safer?
Either that or they're planning to nuke Europe and they don't want their assets to get devalued...?
No cheers,unfortunately.
They should move their money somewhere safe - like Russia or China. ;-)
