I think that Stevens and Ginsburg will do all in their power to stay for the remainder of his term.

One of them could die unexpectedly.

That's true. But that's not controllable.

W did good.

He sure did. The intellects of Roberts and Alito outshine the intellects of the Dem Senators. What an embarrassing spot for the Dems to be in!!

Teddy has to resort to repeating his words, in an effort to lend them more weight.

"That's okay. The voters are starting to..."

I h-o-p-e so. Things get awfully messed up when they don't.
Anyway, Alito pretty much nailed it when he said that the judiciary stands up for the constitution when everybody else makes decisions based on which way the wind blows...You go Alito...

I love Mrs. Alito. She is making me laugh. BTW, they must be married a long time. They look alike.

LOL.

You are right.... they do look alike. And, you should see their twelve year old Weimaraner.

;-)

He's right. They are. And bringing up stupid charges wastes time - but I have to admit it does score political points. Lots of peole can't think deeper than a feel-good sound bite.

Especially when media like CNN break away as Grassly is giving a sensible rebuttal on Alito's behalf.

If this is the best they have..then this is over...Swimmer is on autopilot..going through the motions..Schumer will be vile...but I think that Kohl and Biden will be easy.

The only real question was how would Alito perform in this venue. On a substantive level, the issues and answers have already been reviewd and analyzed.

Alito is doing fine, and will do fine. He has no secrets to hide - he's being honest, and he understands the issues on many levels. IOW, he won't get tripped up - there's nothing to trip on.

I think most of the people watching CNN realize what they are and that's why they're watching it. They wouldn't agree with Grassley anyway.

I know people, who before Kelo, couldn't have named a single Supreme to save to their lives. Now they give a darn about who sits on the court. And even the libs don't want another lib on the court. All politics is local.

Think about it, what better place to tie up these liberal idiot Rat Senators? If they weren't wasting their energy in these hearings they could be getting in real trouble, LOL....

Meanwhile Alito will be confirmed!

Good point, but thankfully CNN is not the most watched cable network.

FOX carries the entire questioning by both parties and when the chair calls a break, then they go to their Hume, Wallace, Kendall crew.

Go Grassly! Go Grassly! Go Grassly!
Get your groove on. Get your groove on. Get your groove on.

I think he's got it! ;)
Judge Alito is doing a good job. His integrity, character and demeanor are making the arrogant, lying, S.O....er...Senators who are trying to smear him bring to mind the contrasts that exist between his character and theirs. Ted Kennedy doesn't need much contrast, of course, because he has done such an exemplary job of making his name synonymous with lack of integrity, lack of character, and debauchery.

I intended to add that the Senate is commandering far more authority here than the founding Fathers ever intended. Therefore we need a Constitutional Amendment requiring that US Senators win their seats in Nation wide elections.

Have you noticed that Brit Hume seems to have a better grasp of the legal issues and is better at expressing them than Kendall (who is not bad)?

Even mock trials or debates would be better than the circus the dems are running. How do you feel Alito did on the Vanguard question? Of course Alito never got to finish answering Olds surfer's question on the ten year-old... but got in enough I feel.
