I intended to add that the Senate is commandering far more authority here than the founding Fathers ever intended. Therefore we need a Constitutional Amendment requiring that US Senators win their seats in Nation wide elections.

We need to have some way that we the people are not helpless before the malfeasance of representatives of other districts and states. The "old boys club" has got to end.

Therefore we need a Constitutional Amendment requiring that US Senators win their seats in Nation wide elections. That goes in the wrong direction. Repeal the 17th - no popular direct election of Senators.
