I intended to add that the Senate is commandering far more authority here than the founding Fathers ever intended. Therefore we need a Constitutional Amendment requiring that US Senators win their seats in Nation wide elections.
That goes in the wrong direction. Repeal the 17th - no popular direct election of Senators.
What ever reigns in their arrogance and makes them answerable to someone or one's who have authority over them.
