Cuba 'paid Oswald to kill Kennedy'

CUBA lay behind the 1963 assassination of President John F Kennedy by Lee Harvey Oswald and its agents provided the gunman with money and support, an award-winning German director says in a new documentary film.

Wilfried Huismann spent three years researching Rendezvous with Death, based on interviews with former Cuban secret agents, US officials and a Russian intelligence source, and on research in Mexican security archives.

The film, shown to journalists in Berlin, says Oswald travelled to Mexico City by bus in September 1963, seven weeks before the Kennedy shooting, and met agents at the Cuban embassy there who paid him $US6500 ($8790).

Oscar Marino, a former Cuban agent and a key source for the documentary, told Huismann that Oswald himself had volunteered for the assassination mission and Havana had exploited him.

"Oswald was a dissident. He hated his country...Oswald offered to kill Kennedy," Marino said in the film.

"He was so full of hate, he had the idea. We used him...He was a tool."

He said he knew with certainty that the assassination was an operation of the Cuban secret service G-2, but would not say if it was ordered by President Fidel Castro.

Oswald was shot dead by Jack Ruby two days after killing Kennedy in Dallas on November 22, 1963.

The film argues Cuba wanted to eliminate Kennedy as the chief enemy of its Communist revolution, and portrays him and Castro as duelling opponents each trying to assassinate the other first.

Former CIA official Sam Halpern told Huismann: "He (Castro) beat us. He bested us. He came out on top, and we lost." Laurence Keenan, an officer of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) who was sent to Mexico City immediately after Kennedy's death to investigate a possible Cuban connection, said he was recalled after just three days and the probe was aborted.

"This was perhaps the worst investigation the FBI was ever involved in," Keenan said. "I realised that I was used. I felt ashamed. We missed a moment in history."

The mob wanted Kennedy gone.
Cuba also wanted him gone, but our mob within the country were more in position and able to pull this all off.

Why would a mob connected guy kill off Oswald if it were Cuba? Ding Ding Ding.

Put yourself in Johnson's shoes in the weeks and months after the shooting. Bits and pieces come out that Oswald was paid...that it may have well come from Cuba...that Kennedy and the CIA had tried to kill Castro...and that Castro simply got smart did the whack job on Kennedy. If all the pieces fall down correctly...how do you punish Castro or Cuba...total invasion? It starts to smell like the episode that started World War I. When Austria spoke its words to invade the Balkans to punish them for the death of the young prince...it rippled all across the globe. Johnson probably added up the numbers and looked at history in the making...and told the Warren commission and the FBI to screw this investigation up as much as possible. You simply can't tell the story.

As for the pieces left on the table from this report. What became of the cash that Oswald took possession of? Did his wife take it and hide it? Did the FBI recover it and just burn it? Was Ruby part of the same group, and simply there to clean up the mess at the end (he might have terminated Oswald if the Dallas cops had not been so quick to locate Oswald)? Were Cuban or KGB marksmen on location to take the other shots, thus allowing Oswald to "think" he did the deed? Did the Dallas cops never figure out this angle or was it simply way too complicated for them to understand? To know the schedule of Kennedy...would Castro simply have turned to the KGB and asked where Kennedy would be in a month or two...which they would have likely known?

Alot of question are left to be answered. But you start to understand the absolute mentality of the administrations since 1963 on maintaining the embargo against Cuba. There are lots of reasons to terminate it...even Jimmy Carter hinted that before...but none of them will lift it...not even Clinton would do that. There is likely an absolute stand on Castro...to wait the guy out.

And your know who placed Marilyn Monroe within the Whitehouse...and who was contracted to the hit on Castro...and rigged the voting in Chicago for the election...

"I still think it was a setup. And I still bet it was LBJ and Hoover."

Weak point.

What would Hoover have to gain in a such a infamous conspiracy?

Money? Power?

He could easily get what he wanted on his own.

He already had enough to blackmail BOTH Johnson and Kennedy to keep his job and pull strings.

Johnson had better motives but not the guts to do it.

Oswald was capable and motiviated enough to and did act alone.

"Autopsy records were filtered and many sealed or redacted. "

Given the heath problems and sexual activities of Jack we know today it is possible that the Kennedy supporters didn't want certain diseases Jack may have acquired to be known publicly and spoil the illusion of "Camelot"

Oswald was in the Marines, I damn well bet he culd shoot straight

A bizarre story was that Oswald (or his double) went to a public shooting range between Dallas and Ft. Worth to sight in a rifle, and fired on an adjoining shooter's target, then got into some kind of hot argument over it. The idea here was supposedly to call attention to himself - - or to a guy that looked like him.

Occam's Razor.

Which makes more sense

- a former Marine,a onetime good shot goes to the range to sharpen up his skills(and finds he's out a little rusty, to say nothing of having some serious mental problems, to say the least)

- or one of many components in a vast elaborate conspiracy does some bizarre act (that would, if anything, cast doubt on Oswald's ability to pull off the shot) as a decoy for an investigation that misses half the CIA, congress and Pentagon and was going to be quashed anyway.

I've darn near fired on the wrong target, out at 300 yards if all the targets look the same.

I *DO* think it should be against the law to seal ANY governmental papers like that. National Security, yeah, but we, the taxpayers, paid for that information lock, stock and (pardon the pun) barrel.

"Here's the post I wrote the last time someone had the same misconception you have"

Really? Are the George Joannides documents released in full? What about the SAS documents? The tape recordings in Mexico City that the HSCA members listened to but which the CIA claims don't exist? ALL docs have been released?
