FRENCH movie-star-turned-animal-rights-activist Brigitte Bardot has lashed President Jacques Chirac for putting on a children's Christmas show at his official Paris residence in which live bears, wolves and parrots were put on display.
Bardot told Mr Chirac in a letter made public that she learned of the December 14 show with "horror" and "deep disappointment".
"My trust in you is broken and I am plunging into despair for all these animals that suffered," she wrote. Bardot, 71, runs the Bardot Foundation, a body that lobbies for animal rights in the world.
More than 600 children were invited to the Christmas show at Mr Chirac's Elysee palace.
The president and his wife Bernadette sat with the audience as they watched a number of routines, including one in which a couple of animal trainers paraded wolves on leashes, chained bears and parrots.
The crowd included a dozen children from an association helping minors afflicted with leukaemia.
No wonder Brigitte is ticked off with Jack!
Any "snails" tormented by taking time off from restaurant work to go on "display"?
Bardot? That name rings a bell.
Funny, I don't remember her with as much facial hair....
I want one! Where do you get them?
Knowing there's a picture posting rule with certain topics, this time let's make sure the pictures were taken before 1980.
As we remember her. What she looks like now????
Nobody can deteriorate to that degree and still be alive...
It's easy, they just run around the forest waiting to be shot! :)
People get older. What's sad is expecting her to look 20 at 71. If that's her, she looks terrific for 71!
"My trust in you is broken and I am plunging into despair for all these animals that suffered,"
Haha! Second one's not Bardot.
You've got to giver her some credit. She saw the Muslim invasion of France for what it was. Called out homosexuals, too. She's been fined by the French thought police on several occasions.
Not really, everyone gets old. See how you look in a close up when you are her age. And of course all those others are posed pictures, special lighting, extra care with makeup (airbrushing?) etc. The other shot is likely taken at some event or other.
She may be a barking moonbat on the animal rights issue, but that's no cause to go attacking how she looks at 71.
My guess is that she spent a lot of time sunbathing and probably smoked, as well. That happens, and it's just aging (which happens to us all), although she seems to have progressed a bit rapidly.
OK, I didn't mean to attack her. When I said "sad", I meant all that beauty gone.
Time will catch up with us all
Hmmm ... give the lady a break. She is 71 now.
As for me, looking at the lower pic, the "beauty that was" can still be seen in that face (the frown notwithstanding). Maybe it's just me.... (older myself)....
Having said that, aside from the animal rights stuff, Ms. Bardot has been very outspoken, and also correct, about preserving the culture of France against the Islamist invasion. More power to her.

(Sigh) Brigette...You will allways be to me, as you
