Sad. Very very sad.People get older. What's sad is expecting her to look 20 at 71. If that's her, she looks terrific for 71!

Very very sad. Not really, everyone gets old. See how you look in a close up when you are her age. And of course all those others are posed pictures, special lighting, extra care with makeup (airbrushing?) etc. The other shot is likely taken at some event or other.
She may be a barking moonbat on the animal rights issue, but that's no cause to go attacking how she looks at 71.

Sad. Very very sad Hmmm ... give the lady a break. She is 71 now.
As for me, looking at the lower pic, the "beauty that was" can still be seen in that face (the frown notwithstanding). Maybe it's just me.... (older myself)....
Having said that, aside from the animal rights stuff, Ms. Bardot has been very outspoken, and also correct, about preserving the culture of France against the Islamist invasion. More power to her.

No it's not sad when a woman gets old gracefully. Bardot looks like a 71 year old woman should look. Sad is Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minille and the Hollywood types who have themselves cut and stitched until they no longer look human.
Jump Bardot for her silly ideas but not for her looks.

What is so sad about a once young and beautiful woman deciding to age without the "benefits" of botox and plastic surgery?
Sad is all of the hollywood has-beens that look like circus freaks and escapees from the Island of Dr. Moreau!
