SAN QUENTIN, California (CNN) -- Convicted killer and Crips gang co-founder Stanley Tookie Williams was executed early Tuesday at the California state prison at San Quentin.
The execution went ahead as scheduled after the U.S. Supreme Court late Monday rejected a last-ditch appeal.
The high court's ruling followed California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's decision to deny clemency for Williams, 51, who received a lethal injection at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday (3:01 a.m. ET).

I agree completely. While all out celebration is a *little* distasteful (but understandable) I had a nice warm glow over me when I heard the b*stard got what was coming to him.
If they can forgive a quadruple homicidal maniac, then surely they can show some understanding towards the celebration of the death of a sociopath.
And personally, I *hope* he rots in hell. He was completely unrepentant to the end, and I hope what Dante wrote about how he saw the layers of hell are only a small taste of what is to come.
And no I don't give a rat's ass what some liberal on DU thinks of us. That's what leads to RINO behavior like that of McCain. "If only they would like us!"
I bet Tookie never does that again.
He's now regularly on Fox News Channel as a financial expert.
I don't celebrate Tookie's death as much as it is more of a general "in your face" to the Moonbats, you couldn't have picked a more ridiculous cause.
As for Tookie, it's between him and God now.
"I'm just unsettled by some people here and their attitudes that seem to be excessively celebratory in my opinion."
Oh, I've been celebrating since about 3:00 pm pacific time yesterday here.
May this sub-human burn in the eternal fires of hell. It's a good thing to see the enemy killed. It's an even better thing to do it cleanly and legally.
The Lord commands us to love our enemies. You do not speak on behalf of the Almighty.
I agree. I would allow the families and friends of the victims such a response, however. I think it would do the rest of us some good, to find some humility. I think one of the reasons there is this reaction to Tookie's execution is that it gives alot of folks here a bit of schadenfreude against the liberals who supported his cause so dearly. I think its still wrong. I feel bad for this guys immortal soul, and what little humanity he may have had left. I ain't sheddin no tear for the scumbag, however.
Perhaps you have never had a loved one murdered. Neither have I, but, my wife has. Her brother that she loved very much, was murdered and they gave they guy a Life Sentance. She has forgiven the guy, but, that doesn't take away the guilt of the perp.
May God have more mercy on Tookie than he had on his victims.
Tookie is toes up with a toe tag. Good riddance!
Now, on the other hand, I was wondering, if this had been a white supremacist, who had formed an outlaw gang of whites, to rape, murder, assault, rob, the white community, and then said he found the Lord and was a changed man, would the liberals of Hollyweird come to his aid and try to save him from death's door? I seriously doubt it. They would have chanted for his execution.
-I'm just unsettled by some people here and their attitudes that seem to be excessively celebratory in my opinion.-
After 20 years the victims in Williams' murder spree have finally been given justice. Mr. Williams' death was far more peaceful and far less painful than anything he forced his victims to endure. Moreover, Mr. Williams did not leave behind young children to be raised without a father; he left behind a legecy of gang violence. And all the children's books to his credit can not cleanse that stain.
If any compassion is required from his execution, let's focus it where it can do the most good: the liberals who fought so hard for their killer. Why they are so upset and demoralized this morning that they don't even have the energy to make it their plastic surgeons office for botox. Can you imagine the loss of revenue! How will this affect the GDP? Will FEMA be called in?
To those who believe the celebrations are in poor taste: My feelings of celebration this morning is not for the death of a killer. I hope he has found salvation. But the truth remains: He's gone and society is safer. The celebration is for the victims, and that celebration examined under any microscope, is not excessive.
Where were you when Terri Schiavo was executed?
bttt!
>>>> The media needs to go on with things and stop giving a cold blooded killer free press.
How does a civilized people feel sorry for a man who killed four people for less than $300.
You think it was bad with Tookie? Wait until it is Saddam's turn.
Bump to your point!
I personally am sickened at the gangs that have taken over my home town making it I believe the eleventh deadliest city in the US. Any time we can give the homies a reality lesson I'm going to be real happy.
Even in early American history a public hanging was a huge social event in which whole communities came to watch.
May God send him straight to Hell without 25 years of appeals.
I guess I better cancel the book signing we were going to have in the corner phone booth.
A penny for the Old Guy.
