He did answer the original question, which was a restatement of the class of philosophical arguments known as "Pascal's Wager". MineralMan's answer outlines one of the (many) longstanding identifications of the several logical fallacies inherent in the question.

Why can't it just be assumed that by believing in God, one believes in the true God, whomever that is? To believe in a false God would be equal to not believing in God in terms of the wager. So as a Christian, if it turns out the Hindu God is the true God then I "lose". I am more than willing to live with that because of my faith. I happen to casually like Pascal's wager, and would love to hear what the logical arguments against are.

I admit, I was wrong. But I still dont like the appointment of Kennedy to his Chief of Staff, and that still raises a lot of issues about him, with me.

Inclined to agree with you. The time between conviction/sentencing and execution is too long for there to be any real deterrence, and it's deterrence that is "sold" as the justification for the death penalty.

That being said and living in Texas.. "Some folks just need killing".
