PARIS (Reuters) - Gangs of youths torched more than 1,000 vehicles overnight in the tenth straight night of violence in Paris's poor suburbs, despite the deployment of thousands of extra police.
In the past few days the rioting has been spreading to other French towns. On Saturday night, cars were burned out for the first time in central Paris, in the historic third district. And in the normally quiet Normandy town of Evreux, a shopping mall, 50 vehicles, a post office and two schools were gutted.
The violence began after the deaths of two men apparently fleeing police, and as the expression of pent up anger by young men, many Muslims of North and black African origin, at police treatment, racism, unemployment and their marginal place in French society.
Authorities have increasingly blamed the rolling nightly riots on organized crime gangs. But despite consultations with community leaders, young people and local officials, Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin has failed to offer a clear path out of the crisis.

It sounds to me like they've reached a sort of gentleman's agreement, where the Muzzies will be allowed to burn down Paris as long as they don't threaten members of the French police force (23% of whom, according to another poster but which I cannot verify, are Muslim).
Actually, that's general Islamic jihad technique: hit and run. They blow things up, burn things down, set fire to or behead helpless civilians, etc. but rarely voluntarily engage in a direct confrontation with anyone they think could do them damage. Little Muslim chickens, being indulged by the French government.
Here in America, the riots would have been carried live on about a zillion news channels and there would have been more reporters on hand than rioters.
With so much to be made in the Oil-for-Francs program it wouldn't have been prudent to join the invasion.

They have been rioting in their own neighborhoods (for the most part). They have been torching their neighbors cars. When this is over the French Guvmint will probably offer to pay to replace vehicles that belonged to muslims that were torched by muslims, aint socialism grand?

Reports now indicate 30 cars torched in Paris last night. In Evreux, 4 police were injured in battles with rioters.

The few MSM reports on that incident almost seem like they are blaming the woman for not getting out of the way fast enough. Insane.
