Darn we're still at square one?. I will write again but I wonder why the blogger who spoke to Martin and then complained that

"Conspicuously absent from Martin’s response is any indication of the replacement of the “Crescent of Embrace”. This patently begs the question: “What are they refining?”

didn't ask HIM directly. An opportunity to get all the facts was missed here.

A couple of bulldozers could eventually change it..

Close to my original thoughts.

Let them build it as the designer intended against all outrage by the taxpayers who will wind up paying for it.
Someone will torch it. I say let it burn.

Maybe it would help to think of it as a cocked bow, with a spiritual arrow aimed dead at Mecca.

Ping #54!

Thanks for the ping to this very important thread.

Gov. Pataki "killed" the "freedom tower" PC insult to our intelligence... The SAME needs to happen with this outrageous tribute to the evil, mass murdering cult!

I agree, it almost seems like they're going to just wait out the publicity and then go ahead as planned. I'm going to contact them right away.

"Liberal multiculturalists are bowing down to praise Allah, and trying to lick the rear ends of the Muslims in front of them."

They might as well build what you describe as a memorial, at least it would be honest.

If such a thing went up, I think the public would vandalize and dissemble it out of existence.

If it is ever built, it won't be allowed to stand long by the public IMO.

Thanks for the ping.

What I don't understand is the willingness to "let them build it using OUR MONEY" just so it can be defaced and/or destroyed.

That's the problem. Quit "allowing" these things to happen - period. Has Mr. Beamer been contacted? Why are those 40 families not mentioned?

I'd recommend contacting local newspapers, too. Few editors are aware of this.

As a former editor, I have some tips. I'd recommend writing a brief (concise) letter to the editor, including something very straightforward, like one of the graphics that illustrate the memorial crescent and the Islamic one. Mail this hardcopy and then send the information via e-mail for when they will be getting the hardcopy, and be sure to include a few the best URLs for getting info (like from LGF or RCP or http://zombietime.com/flight_93_memorial_project/). Check the newspaper's schedule, to see when they publish letters and editorials, etc. Be sure to leave the tinfoil off and make reasoned, not wildly emotional, arguments. If your note has a line ending in "!!!" then perhaps you need a break before trying a rewrite. :-)

Remember, read over what you're planning to send--before sending--and better yet, have someone else check it over. Be accurate, be concise, and use proper English--like you're sending a résumé--as you have only a few seconds in front of the editor's eyes (do you know how many nutcase press releases and letters I used to get?!? You don't want to get thrown into that pile....)

Remember, you want to let the editor know something he doesn't know about yet...inform him...don't beat him over the head with what you think he should believe.

Hope this helps!

Not only does the Islamic Crescent at Shanksville need to go back to the drawing board, but this abomination must be dropped from the current design:

Proposed "Tower of Voices" at Shanksville. Islamic minaret on the right (and left).

Very good advice indeed!

Thanks so much.

If everyone wrote a letter about this proposed "Crescent of Embrace" to their local papers.....the word would spread and the outcry against this abomination would be heard!

Great ideas. I may have to wait until after the election to get on this.

Is there an on-line petition to sign? There was for the WTC memorial that I believe was quite helpful in that fight.

Also, take a look at the flags of islam before looking at or creating designs, here .....

There are a few petitions calling for the building of a Memorial shown on this google search page:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=flight+93+memorial+petition&btnG=Google+Search

but none opposing the crescent design that I could find.

Perhaps Jeff Head could start one?
