Laura Bush's "desperate housewives" jokes at a press club dinner in Washington several months ago and her daughters' recent attendance at a homosexual "marriage" ceremony speak clearly as to the disregard of Biblical morality and traditional values on the part of the females of the Bush family.

Really? Why don't you take a poll in here and see who watches "Sex in the City", "Will & Grace" & "Desparate Housewives" and then tell me who is supporting immoral principles.

As has been mentioned, Gore in '88 was pro-life

And when it came down to Bush vs. Gore, she made her largest political contributions to Bush's recount efforts.

Yes, peoples politics do change over time. My wife was a registered Democrat for 30 years until she seen what Clinton did. That's when she switched to Republican.

We're both middle of the road Republicans and her meatloaf is very good.

She's effing 60 and never married....

What's that got to do with anything? Condoleezza Rice is in her 50's and she isn't married either.

wonder what she'll think of Scalia and Thomas. She'll probably think they're just "mean."

That is the exact thought that came to my mind as well.

For what it's worth.

It's worth a lot to Hillary and she hasn't even had to spend a dime yet. She thanks you!

Einstein was basically a commie, yes. Here's a link to his famoous "Why Socialism?" Be careful not to read it while operating heavy machinery:

and here's The Einstein File, a book about Einstein's political mischief, recorded in the FBI files:

You know why all the trees in Ohio bend towards Columbus?

Because Taft sucks.

I find the selection of Meirs to be very mediocre. I am neither for nor against Meirs, but the lack of any historical judicial "thinking" on her part makes it hard to pin down this nominee. It does seem like a lot of very qualified candidates were bypassed with her selection.

The fact that I haven't heard any concerns or outrage from the RATs gives me reason to question this nominee.

Prove to me that she is "in the mold of Scalia and Thomas" as previously promised by the President and I'll move heaven and earth to support her. If not, I'm sitting home in 06.

I suspect we'll know in time for the '06 elections. If she's Souter in a skirt I'll be sitting home too.

Since when do opinion polls determine moral standards?

Giuliani tops McCain in all those polls, read them again.

Seems like I keep having to say 'read it again'. But that's part of the problem, too many people ASSUMING too much too early in the process.

Initial disappointment is one thing, and understandable. Declaring that one is going to sit out or join a 3rd party is quite another.

Get a grip, people.

The more I see all these "true" conservatives panic and run around screaming, threatening to never support the party again every time there is a moment of uncertainty, the less I trust them.

So given the choice in 1988 between continuing the Reagan Revolution or making Albert "Insufferable Pr*ck" Gore President she chose the latter... God, that makes me really gung ho for her nomination. It certainly shows she's a fantabulous judge of character.

Don't matter what you or we are "fine" with.

Bush's goal is to nominate the rightward most nominee who is confirmable. This may be that person. In his opinion, it is.

At first blush, this pick appears to be breathtaking in its stupidity.

Is it true that Reid recommended her ... and Schumer calls her "mainstream"?

The only hopeful news percolating out there is a report of an evangelical Christian conversion in fairly recent years.
