The more I see all these "true" conservatives panic and run around screaming, threatening to never support the party again every time there is a moment of uncertainty, the less I trust them.
Yes, although it's not entirely their fault. Part of the problem is through the Internet and places like freerepublic we have all been thinking about and making predictions about this appointment for days, or weeks. People get anchored to their viewpoint and then are disappointed when their anchor is pulled out from under them.
GWB knows what happened to his father, he is not about to make the same mistake. If he wants to appoint someone that he knows will vote along the lines of his own thinking, it's best to pick a trusted long time friend over an experienced Judge.
And that is what scares them the most, so the hysteria.
IMO, the observable distinction of a conservative is the ability to think clearly and rationally...............making these people decidedly NOT.
Amen! The walk on water true conservatives are the real RINOs in this world. I wish that they would have to donate $5's to FR everytime they post, "That does it! I will never vote for GW again. Or GW isn't a real conservative like me.!"
