Rita Damage to SW Louisiana worse than being reported
Lake Charles.com Photos ^ | September 25, 2005

The damage that has hit SW Louisiana and SE Texas is much worse than is being reported by the MSM. While there is very little in the way of a body count, houses and businesses by the hundreds have been destroyed. Entire communities in Cameron Parish have more than likely been erased from the map.

Here is link for some images from SW LA. You'll have to scroll down.

Even the governor of Louisiana is looking at Rita as a distraction from getting over Katrina. When all is said and done, it will be Rita that has left the biggest scar on Louisiana.

Just Damn!

The aftermath of Hurricane Rita is seen over Campron, La., in this aerial photo made in a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter

When I read on FR last night that the CG was rescuing the stranded in SW LA yesterday my first thought was good grief - does no one learn - I mean how isolated are these people?

Rita basically "threaded" her way up the stateline and its relatively unpopulated area but of course there are going to be some communities and people living there - just not millions.

You wouldn't expect Jerry Rivers to venture away from his party at the Holiday Inn, would you? What a worthless correspondent! Thanks for the link…that's New Orleans w/o the chemical sewage.

Now that is devastation. Looks like a town that was literally built on the beach.

I doubt that.

It will be Nagin, Blanco, Landrieu, and the NO police, with a little gun grabbing and the incessant whining of Geraldo and Shepard Smith tossed in for flavor.

Over on the board you made into a clickable link, they're saying that's Cameron and not Campron...as usual MDM gets it wrong again.

Not enough coverage? Perhaps there wasn't enough blacks involved in the devastation?

Because of costal erosion over the last few decades the beach has literally gone from hundreds of yards away to practically on the front porch. The irony here is that Rita will have reversed years of work to improve the erosion around this area of the coast.

***Thanks. My HTML isn't up to snuff.***

You seem to have done it right, everything you needed was there, and on a separate line. I'm trying to figure out why your URL didn't automatically turn into a clickable link. Maybe someone else can tell you why your computer failed to do it.

It looks to me like it was a bare beach before the hurricane. I don't see any rubble.
