It is a devil of a job but someone has to do it. Applications are invited for exorcism training at the Vatican's Rome university, the Athenaeum Pontificium Regina Apostolorum. The 10-week course includes sessions in exorcism rites, how to talk to the Devil, the tricks he uses to fight back and signs of the occult hidden in rock music and video games.
Students also attend classes in psychology so that priests can distinguish between "real cases" of satanic possession and illnesses such as schizophrenia.
(emphasis ExSoldier)The recruitment drive comes amid growing Vatican concern about a rise in Satanism. Pope Benedict XVI this week praised 180 of the students gathered at a secret location outside Rome.
"I encourage you to continue your important ministry in the services of the Church," the new Pope told them, saying their work would be closely supported by local bishops.

I found this very interesting as it seems to highlight, once again, that the confluence of evidence shows that indeed we are living in the last days. For THAT reason, I put this also into the "News/Current Events" category. LOL
I wonder if anyone has notified them that the Devil is in the Democratic Party?
Q: Are Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton possessed? Could Demons do a worse job than these two have done, anyway? Would a demon's best efforts just be wasted?

They may not be possessed yet, but they have certainly made deals with the devil. So far, they are upholding their ends of the bargain.

People of all faiths and denominations who are interested in this VERY real topic should check out www.FICM.org and read some books by Neil Anderson, Peter Wagoner and Chuck Pierce.
With all due respect, this is not just for Catholic Priests anymore.

I'm currently reading, "Hostage to the Devil" by Malachi Martin. Fascinating book that chronicles five exorcisms in 20th century America. The 1992 preface to the book talks about the rise of Satanism in America, along with the decrease or elimination of church teaching addressing evil and demons. Apparently, after the Second Vatican council, the Roman Catholic church did away with exorcism training as a part of the training of priests, with the result that the practice of exorcism is being forgotten, and the teaching to combat possession is being forgotten.
It's good to see that the new Pope is putting an emphasis on this.

How did Jesus rid the possessed of their demons? He simply used his Divine authority and just ORDERED them to leave. They always obeyed the King of Kings.

I read "Hostage to the Devil" about a dozen years ago and recommend it those truly interested in the subject and not merely looking for a good "scary read."
A few instances from the book still stand out in my mind, especially when the possessed shouts at an attending psychiatrist "you are already ours!" or words to that effect.
I may have to give it a fresh reading.
