Dallas Digs (Nagin moves to Dallas)
Fox News Grapevine ^ | 9-12-05 | Brit Hume

Posted on 09/13/2005 5:56:31 AM PDT by Indy Pendance

Now some fresh pickings from the Hurricane Grapevine:

New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin (search) greeted President Bush when he arrived in Louisiana last night, and was at his side as he fielded questions on the Katrina relief efforts this morning. That quality time with the president, however, marks the mayor's first visit to the disaster area since Wednesday when Nagin pulled up stakes and moved his family to Dallas. The Dallas Morning News reports that Nagin has already bought a house in the city, and enrolled his daughter in school.

When the Mayor appeared on "Meet the Press" on Sunday from Dallas, he was never asked about his presence there, or his decision to move his family.

I haven't heard it mentioned or have missed it but what is the cost of a school bus? Also there were city buses that are under water about what do they cost? Poor Mayor Nagin his buses are under water and please will some one replace them.

You know who will pay them- there is no such thing as government money, until it is taken from us, - we who pay INCOME TAXES will pick up the tab because of their pure stupidity.

Just heard NO is out of money - broke- soooo.

"He didn't want press conferences because he was tired of being asked if he is retarded."

Thank you...I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who wondered about his mental condition.

I kind of figured he was either sort of slow, or very seriously medicated.

If you buy your family a house in a whole other state, one could reasonably believe they aren't planning on returning.

AMEN! And how many hundreds of thousands of those evacuees will stay, and vote to turn this into a BLUE state - just because we were just trying to help them out??

Changing the subject.....I heard that New Orleans is BROKE. It's only been 2 weeks since the hurricane and Nagin says they have no money. They are trying to borrow from banks to make payroll. Where did their money go? What did they spend it on?

In a stark reminder of how drastically Hurricane Katrina has impacted the lives of New Orleanians, Mayor Ray Nagin has purchased a home for his family in Dallas and enrolled his young daughter in school there.
I sure as heck blame Nagin for much of the mess but I did find this"

"Nagin, who spoke with The Times-Picayune by telephone from Dallas, where he has been since Wednesday, said he planned to return to New Orleans on Saturday. He said he will remain in the Crescent City while his family lives for the next six months in Dallas, making occasional visits to his family when possible."

That being said his family should have been relocated in LA. That's just a basic action politically wise - leading the charge as opposed to running away. In the miltary that is known as cowardice and is punishable.

If I had to move to another state I would move to Texas.

Indeed I wonder what it must be like to live in a wonderful state like Texas, where prosperous people persue their happiness with zeal. Where people love their country and love their barbecue. Where Americans are Americans.

I'll never move to another state in the rest of my natural life. I've already moved from Merryland to Delaware...can you say frying pan into the fire.

And all the other states around me are blue, blue, blue, except maybe southern PA.

Seriously, sometimes I lay in bed and dream about what it's like to live in a state where they love America.

Living with all this Hate America in the Northeast gets weary.

Hey Freepers in Dallas....

Can you get us the price of his house and a pic?
You go to the city"s property sales records (public records ) and his name, house and address and price will be there.

“Analyze my ass, analyze everyone’s ass, man. Let’s put the facts on the table and talk turkey. Why was there a breakdown at the federal and state level only in Louisiana? This didn’t happen in Mississippi. That’s the question. That’s the question of the day.”

Yes, mayor, let's just do that. Maybe your next address will be Angola State Prison.

"Timmy never asks rats tough questions."

A truly overrated talking head. Just because he asks questions with unblinking eyes and a smirky smile, everyone goes, ooooh, timmy is sooooo insightful.
He needs to take a remedial course in who, what where why and how.

Tim couldn't ask hard questions sunday. He was busy figuring out how to question the republican governor candidate Kilgore to make him look silly.

He did this well, by purposely confusing the difference between different types of hypothetical questions.
