Byron York of The National Review had a great article yesterday about the devolution of the MoveOn Katrina Victims protest at the White House.
Dana Milbank of the Washington Post also wrote about MoveOn's troubled demonstration.
However, apparently both these fine observers of the scene had departed when the worst part of the MoveOn protest happened.
As Angelwood and I stood talking and debating with malingering MoveOn protesters, a man standing about twenty or thirty feet away from us was giving an interview with an independent D.C. journalist.
I recognized the man as a long time liberal activist from Florida whom we had first met during the build up to the impeachment of President Clinton.
Then, he was defending Bill Clinton, now he's trying to draft his wife Hillary to run for president herself.
It took a while for the man's name to come to mind. It was Bob...something.
As he was giving the interview, the man became agitated and started speaking in a loud voice. He welled up into a tirade and blurted out, "FReepers should be shot!"
I was looking at him as he said this, as his loud voice was naturally drawing the attention of those within ever-growing earshot as his decibel level grew.
Knowing he was out on the political hustings and has been on TV shows and been quoted many times in the press, I asked him if he had just said that we (Freepers) should be shot . I thought maybe he'd take it back and try to excuse himself for being so worked up.
But no, he responded, "Yes, you should be shot!"
He walked away after that. The police did nothing.
Angelwood and I left soon after. The man's name finally came to me. Bob Kunst, president of Hillary Now.
I suppose he's lucky the TV cameras were long gone by then. But there is an audiotape. There was a microphone right in his face when he yelled out, "Freepers should be shot!"

The day that Hillary becomes President - I will probably be in Israel before that.
The problem is, people like Kunst start to believe the junk they spout. They believe that Bush was trying to kill black people down in New Orleans. They believe that their conservative brethren are Nazis and fascists. They believe that elections are fixed. When confronted with such mental monsters, small wonder they want to shoot them.
My fear is that someone will go over the edge and try it.
I demand that Senator Kennedy meet with me so I can call him a fat dummy.

The statement "Freepers should be shot" is essentially a call for civil war. This Bob character warrants formal investigation. He is a would be and potential future revolutionary. He may be breaking Federal Law.
I see he likes a ceegar now and again, just like ole Slicky boy.
Indeed, it's a call for Civil War. "Freepers" are a subset, a code word. We are the silent majority. He has called for the liquidation of the bourgeoisie.
Get a restraining order not allowing him to come within 200 feet of anyone registered to Free Republic.
Freedom you need to visit the range...thats only a little over 65 yds. Too easy of a distance to hit fat boy Kunz. Make it a sporting distance.
Hopefully they can be stopped before they start a blood bath. If they cross the line into extra legal acts, en masse, de escalation may prove difficult. The door may be opened for depotism.
That is an excellent point. Now that the Left and what I label the faux "right" (no true rightist would promote overthrow as do the Duke crowd) are growing closer, horrible possibilities are arising.

I hear them talking guns also. Now as to whether they know how to load them is another thing.
I must wonder what I have long wondered - how much of that money is from overseas? How much is from terror orgs? How much is from nation-states who hate the US and the West?
