Did Blanco attempt genocide at Superdome?
Ramblings' Journal ^ | 9.7.05 | Michael King

Posted on 09/07/2005 8:08:10 PM PDT by mhking

The Red Cross has confirmed to Fox News Channel's Major Garrett that they had requested permission to take food and medical supplies to the Louisiana Superdome in the hours immediately after Hurricane Katrina's landfall. That request was denied by none other than Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco.

Garrett appeared on Hugh Hewitt's syndicated radio program this evening to discuss the shocking revelation.

MG: Well, the Red Cross, Hugh, had pre-positioned a literal vanguard of trucks with water, food, blankets and hygiene items. They're not really big into medical response items, but those are the three biggies that we saw people at the New Orleans Superdom, and the convention center, needing most accutely. And all of us in America, I think, reasonably asked ourselves, geez. You know, I watch hurricanes all the time. And I see correspondents standing among rubble and refugees and evacuaees. But I always either see that Red Cross or Salvation Army truck nearby. Why don't I see that?

HH: And the answer is?

MG: The answer is the Louisiana Department of Homeland Security, that is the state agency responsible for that state's homeland security, told the Red Cross explicitly, you cannot come.

HH: Now Major Garrett, on what day did they block the delivery? Do you know specifically?

MG: I am told by the Red Cross, immediately after the storm passed.

The Louisiana Department of Homeland Security is directly under the command and direction of Governor Kathleen Blanco. The same Kathleen Blanco who has whined and blamed the federal government from her perch in Baton Rouge throughout this entire crisis. The same Kathleen Blanco who has stared at cameras with deer-in-headlight-glazed eyes since Hurricane Katrina made landfall. The same Kathleen Blanco who, after being asked about federal help prior to landfall said, "No." The same Kathleen Blanco who rescinded Mayor Ray Nagin's order to completely evacuate the city due to dangerous conditions just today.

Was Kathleen Blanco's goal the death of as many of those in the Superdome as possible?

LOL!

...If anything, it's gross negligence on Blanco's part here.

Come to think of it, Blanco sort of reminds me of Sen. Barbara Boxer, minus the hysterical whine.

Reaching ??? Good God, man, you're off in moonbat land!!!! I'd expect to see this sort of lunacy on DU, but here??? From a supposedly intelligent FReeper???

This post of yours is a disgrace to yourself, to FR, and to conservatives generally.

Lay off him.

He talks sense.

If the facts are SO horrific that they send the mind reeling, that is STILL no justification for refusing to acknowledge them.

What he has suggested is in fact standard marxist doctrine, part and parcel of the "end game" of the class warfare scenario.

When "the useless eaters" have served their purpose (gotten enough lefties elected to permanent office, scared "the vast middle" into welcoming repressive unconstitutional legislation), then they are of no further utility, and they tend to have very short half-lives after that point is reached.

The main thing mitigating against accepting this notion is the "it can't happen here" theory. And that's nothing I'd want to hang MY hat on.

Seems to me the answer is one of 2 things neither of which is very flattering: 1) gross incompetence 2)political gamesmanship to try and make Bush look bad. (Or some combination of the two)

I think it is #2...Everyone keeps saying La Government is stupid, but if it is #2 it was a brillant idea if it had worked according to planned. It will backfire Big Time...because the truth is going to come out, President Bush will be vindicated.... Thank God!

Not really a stretch. Methinks it does point out whom the real racist is, and wanted Black people dead, and it wasn't Bush.

Sorry if there are those on this forum that don't like my thinking, but... That is what I think. I'm a Kentucky Hillbilly, (proudly stated), and I could have organized an evacuation from NO. This seem deliberate.

I hate to be a tin foil hatter but that all fits. It would explain some of the crazy things she has done. And she knows the DUpes at DU would help her blame Bush. On O'Rielly tonight they said the Guards have been muzzled about when she actually gave the order to go in. 2 days after the hurricane. And she refused Bushes help to evacuate them. Strange indeed.

I have always thought, I would never have gone there for a shelter. NEVER. How tall is the structure, must be one of the highest buildings, easier for the wind to reach.

It is a big round wing. A giant Frisbee.

What does a Frisbee do when placed in a rapidly moving airstream?

Can you imagine the horror if the wind had lifted that "wing" aloft? (I'd be very surprised if the architects relied on much more than gravity to hold that immense roof to the building.)

It would have lifted up a few feet -- and then dropped back down, and broken into thousands of huge, jagged concrete boulders, which would have made short work of the poor bastards huddled three hundred feet beneath it.

Democrats, see the poor just like the Communists did, as a tool used to gain power, and then to be discarded once they get that power.

We have a winner!

How did this idiot get elected Governor????....

After hearing a few things on FoxNews tonight I am beginning to get some ideas. The people trying to get the people to leave NO said the people don't want to leave cause, get this, one man thought they were going to take him to a concentration camp! Sounds to me like there has been some propaganda going on. Telling these poor ignorant people Republicans would put them in concentration camps if they got voted in.

They had to do a little brainwashing before they kicked them off the plantation.

I find it very difficult to believe that anyone is as incompetent and stupid as Blanco has been -- even if they are a leftist. I truly wonder if there is something else going on here. The term "genocide" here is somewhat over the top, yes, I'll agree.

But there is something going on here. Something more than an incompetent woman sitting on a couch stuffing herself with bon-bons while people die in New Orleans.

You're right. Racism simply does NOT exist.

And besides, even if it DID exist, it would not be polite to point it out. POLITE people simply look the other way, and excuse the unthinkable.

Blanco and Nagin never got along to begin with. I'm sure that Nagin will come around and wake up and smell the coffee. If I'm not mistaken Nagin supported Jindal in the LA gubernatorial election.

I think thats true but I have a feeling the mayor is afraid for his very life.
