"I would like to commend both Governor Blanco and all of the local leaders who have done a tremendous job helping the people of Louisiana prepare for Hurricane Katrina." - Landrieu Says State is Prepared For Katrina - 8-28-05
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE August 28, 2005
Sen. Landrieu Statement on Hurrican Katrina
WASHINGTON -- United States Senator Mary L. Landrieu, D-La., issued the following statement from the Hurricane Command Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
"I would like to commend both Governor Blanco and all of the local leaders who have done a tremendous job helping the people of Louisiana prepare for Hurricane Katrina. Unfortunately, the reverberations of this storm will be felt not only in Louisiana but across the nation.
"Our port system provides the nation with the transportation needs for our country's economy and commerce while our coastline provides the energy for our homes and industries. And Louisiana's unique wetlands provide our state with a buffer zone from natural disasters such as hurricanes. But our wetlands have been eroding. As I have said before, in order for us to protect America's energy supply and transportation needs, the federal government must join with the people of Louisiana to preserve America's wetlands. "But as we have not weathered all of Katrina yet, we ask the American people to keep us in their thoughts and prayers at this time."
Hahaha
Whoa! Very nice catch.
..state was prepared for Katrina..?
I don't think so.
Tremendous job!
If that's what you believe Senator then you are incapable of using even the outside facilities much less the thunder mug without getting it all over your hands in in your drawers.
Oh, and the link hasn't been excised from the web page. Anybody want to cache this?
No wonder she was in full Moonbat this morning.
I am ordering everyone to evacuate the city. If you are elderlu, sick, or unable to walk to a shelter, please bring your own schoolbus. Ours are worth too much money to risk damaging them.
And I suppose the heros of the day were the Mayor and Govenor. (I did not see that, but it would make sense.)
Gee, if she thinks this was good preparation, then Landrieu must just be thrilled with the Feds' response...
Hehehe!
Did I miss something? Although the headline says the state is prepared, I don't see the senator actually saying that. Just like a 'Rat, plausible deniability...
Oh, yes. New Orleans was prepared alright. They even had a Plan.
The Plan was "Every man for himself". And then of course there was the "Screw the poor without resources" section of The Plan.
Well...I think this explains her irrational attitude of late: Guilt and a lot of Projection.
Between this and her threat to slug GW, she looks like a double-wide horse's patootie.
Before this hurricane I wondered how a person like Landreau could get elected to office.
NEVERMIND!
She always has. They didn't call her father "Moon" for nothing.
A copy of this should be placed in the hands of EVERY "refugee" who lived in Louisiana.
