On a related note, boat rescue operations in an urban flood zone are always considered inherently dangerous due to the unknown hazards underneath the murky waters that can damage these rescue boats.

There have been sporadic reports of people being carjacked and "boatjacked". Mostly rumors, but it seems now that some of the rumors are now proving true.

For what it is worth, I fail to understand why the residents fight off their rescuers. Are they protecting thier narcotics and loot? Do they intend to set the city up for their own kingdom of anarchy?

FWIW, I saw a fire that looked like it was burning on top of flood water. A nat gas leak that torched off? Situations like that would have to be a major concern for folks doing boat rescues.

Cannot believe the hoodlums have NOT BEEN SHOT ON SIGHT! WTF is wrong with those animals. Looting for basic survival items can be overlooked under the circumstances.
