The situation in New Orleans continues to deteriorate due to rising water levels and desperation. Search and rescue continues via boat and air. Authorities have announced the goal to evacuate all the remaining residents of NOLA. The New Orleans Mayor has reported numerous gas leaks throughout the city. Sporadic fires occurring. Attempts to evacuate hundreds of hospital patients from Charity Hospital and Tulane Medical Center are in process. Patients are being transported to other hospitals as far away as Florida.
The Army Corps of Engineers is at the NOLA levee breaks with current plans to drop 3000 lb sand bags in an effort to stop the flow of water. NOLA hospital evacuations continue for thousands of patients. Reports indicate all evacuees are being taken to the SuperDome, which is now surrounded by water. The generators at the Dome are now in jeopardy. The Governor of Louisiana has called for a day of prayer tomorrow...
Elsewhere, search and rescue continue in Mississippi and Alabama. Biloxi reports indicate catastrophic damage.

No, but Tom Kat is back after a refreshing timeout and W's rock-solid status report.
lol
Oh, FEMA will pay for them - later. They hire what they can, commandeer what they can't, and compensate later.
I would guess most of those bodybags may be for rural areas that were unprepared.
With his right fist cliched so real President Bush is. No fake lip bitting placing none native rocks in a cross shape on some infamous beach
You Decide
Contrary to popular belief among those not around when the new formatting was put into place,
your machine is only caching as much info on each reload as your preferences tell it to, or 100 posts per page, whichever is less.
That's why folks are asked to keep graphics under 50k most times, as anything larger tends to make any page they're on slower for dialup users.
IOW, you are not reloading all 6,000 whatever posts from this thread when you refresh the page - only the 20 or 50 or 100 posts of the page you're currently viewing.

Please note on the new thread that this isn't about humor, feuds or anything else besides helping Katrina's victims in any way we can.
I'm not talking direct cause and effect. I am saying that you reap what you sow in the karma and circularity of life. We gave license to a sexual predator and chief executive officer who committed perjury and obstruction of justice; and the nation yawned. That breeds consequences for any nation from the fortunes of Providence IMHO.
Declare Martial Law, or a legal state of emergency, announce that you will SHOOT looters before the disaster... then SHOOT THEM.
You will only have to shoot a few and the rest will stop.
Looters are stealing the future livelyhoods of those that need to provide jobs to revitalize the area and costing us millions in higher insurance.
G..that one town that the president said was destroyed will be lucky to have a dozen families that did not lose a loved one.
That looks like both fists are clinched.
"REMEMBER NEW ORLEANS!!"
Should become a CONSERVATIVE Battle cry for 2006-2008....
We are witnessing what 30 years of Liberalism, Destruction of the Family and Social Infrastructures have done.
And many of those bodies floating in the water ARE NOT Hurricane related deaths..
report on CNN saying Police are in chaos..he had a boat on the back of his Expedition and he heard two shots..didn't know if they were shooting at him or what.he gunned it and got out of there. Cop told him he was very scared.
yeah - well, i'm from houston. good luck with that.
Some fool reporter on CNN, Chris Lawrence, on cell phone just drove into New Orleans with a rental car and boat. Says he "didn't know about looting." The guy is gonna' get himself killed.
The governor is now losing it over the petty criminals, pounding the lectern.
I am hoping that they do pull the military in at this point. I am not a fan of using our military against ourselves, but this is ridiculous.
She has to stop pounding on the table and start pounding on the looters.
