Extremely dangerous Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on the North Central Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans metro area. Thousands of people did not evacuate New Orleans. Outer bands of Katrina are reaching the Louisiana coast.
Due to the size and intensity of this storm, all interests in the North Gulf of Mexico should be in their safe locations.

Ouch....
My God I hope not!
She is spinning. We really did not know this was coming until the last minute. That Bastardi guy on FOX news who is weather guru at AccuWeather had New Orleans at center for well over the 72 hour evac time line. They are using typical Demo CYA spin. "I did not have sex with that woman".
"We did not know that his hurricane was real." I hope someone sues the mayor and parrish officials for NOT issuaing a mandatory evac until Sunday morning when it was too late for many to leave.
It's not squared, or tripled, it increases 500 or a 1000 fold. How do you 'grade' damage: above a certain windspeed threshold EVERYTHNG except stubs of reinforced-concrete remain standing, and winds extending out from the center tend to 'tail off' down to something survivable in the 60-70 MPH range ...
No, no, no, no, no! Stop spreading false rumors! It was the golfer who cried "Ratfarts!"
The stupid b*tch is saying: "working people in NO did not know about hurricane until saturday" seems like she did not know either, I am a "working people" and I knew this things is projected to aim at NO on Friday, and I dont even live close to Luisiana.
He was talking about people in the French Quarter... he advised them to be in a building of at leat 2-3 stories and to have the means for hacking out a hole to get out onto the roof.
could very well be. Maybe the person claiming it was referring to someone who sang it...
NO, he said it in answering a question about people stuck in the French Quarter ...like Shep
Say what?

Very informative! Here in Florida we found that big Cypress trees fell easily in high winds and even after the winds subsided, the weight of the water in the trees would cause them to fall unexpectedly.
I can not repeat here what my husband was yelling about her from the other room :)
I quit two years ago but could start upYëÄin if I was in NO.
Thank you for your post--I couldn't access the site--too much traffic, as is to be expected.
Thank goodness for FR.
LOL! Carville definitely slithered out of some primordial swamp to sun himself regularly. He could be the missing link between amphibians and man. A snake with wing-tip shoes.
So we should expect this hurricane to head straight for Vegas next then?
No. San Fran.
No, darn it!
BTW, love your tagline.
"I quit two years ago but could start upYëÄin if I was in NO."
But I could never say that again.
