Open Letter to the MSM – Part Two. We are indeed kicking your tails. Are you surprised? We’re not.

Posted on 08/27/2005 8:33:43 PM PDT by Pukin Dog

Hello again, MSM.

I thought it might be time to check in and see if my earlier prediction had come true, and when I tally up the score, it appears that you are losing, and losing bad. This one little website that you and yours like to deride and write off and a haven for right-wing extremism appears to be a lot more popular than those which spout your religion of left-wing victimhood and pray at your alter of abortion-on-demand.

You are losing.

Impeached anyone lately? Forced any Congressmen out of office? Halliburton is making record profits last time I looked, and Karl Rove has not been on the phone with U-Haul either. People are tuning you out faster than you can say “ethics investigation”, while the one television network not singing your tune has a bigger audience than all its direct competitors combined.

Last week, one of your prominent mis-informers tried to spew his particular brand of BS (Barbara Streisand) and we jumped on the little ferret before he could run back into ferret-hole at the NY Times. Paul Krugman has no credibility left, and even his minions and protectors in the Underground could not defend his lies with any authority. But back to Rove for a minute, shall we?

Didn’t the proven-liar Joseph Wilson (one of yours) suggest that Rove would be frog-marched to jail in handcuffs? Last time I checked, Rove was scarfing down Texas-barbecue down in Crawford, while it was Judith Miller who was wearing the prison stripes. I don’t think they serve BBQ in jail, but if Ms. Miller were to ask nicely, I bet Karl would send her a rib or two.

As I write this, you folks are breathlessly covering a wacked-out tool of the left as she continues to throw feces at her son’s grave. No matter that there are 10 times as many folks just on the other side of the road that strongly appose her who your cameramen and anchors, cant seem to find. Look to the RIGHT. See them waving at you in the Club Gitmo T-shirts? You can’t miss them. Or, I guess you can, huh?

Let’s see if you can miss this; All your Supreme Courts are belong to us!

Dubya-the-dummy seems to have pulled a fast one on you, and selected John Roberts for the Supreme Court, and there is nothing you can do about it, but whine and moan like he stole your cookies. The fact remains that in the future, you and those you support might just be stuck with a new concept for getting your agenda accepted in America. YOU MIGHT HAVE TO FIND PEOPLE TO VOTE FOR IT! GASP! But then, we both know that aint gonna happen, right? Bad things happen to your agenda when the public actually gets to vote on it. If memory serves, eleven states voted on whether or not to support Gay Marriage, and eleven (10 +1 for those in Rio Linda) states voted against it. Whew, that was quite the squeaker! So glad we pulled that one out at the last minute!

Sucks to be you.

Pretty soon, the pretty little Caribou are going to have nice drilling platforms to keep them warm against those dreaded Alaskan winters! Can we get some credit for helping out the freezing wildlife? Can’t filibuster the budget, so I guess you folks are going to lose this one too? Say hi to Bambi for me? I’ll be the one in my 2005 Hummer H2, as it main-lines petrol at 10 MPG just so I can see over the traffic on my way to the shooting range.

Last night, I watched Terry Moran sit in front of a camera and try to appear intelligent. It didn’t work. At least the now defunct Peter Jennings had some class and style in his butchering of the facts. Maybe if Terry sang the news……

Anyway, back to the score…

This spring, more kids learned new curse words on Deadwood than learned anything of substance from MSNBC. CNN is now being out hustled by Nancy Grace, just because more people want to hear her southern-drawl than Wolf Blitzer’s ….uh…….anything, I guess. Ratings don’t lie, folks. People are turning away from your offerings faster than beauty pageants turn away from fat chicks.

Air America anyone? Anyone at all? That little study in demographic irrelevance must be really painful for you. More folks remember Limbaugh’s last sneeze than anything Randi Rhodes said last week. If I had a dollar for every Air America listener, during radio prime-time, I might be able to buy another Club Gitmo T-shirt, and fill my Hummer for a couple of days, but what would it prove? Okay, it would prove that Air America is pathetic trash, sucking off the teat of the loony left (and apparently little disadvantaged children) just to stay on the air. Maybe Laura Ingram and Sean Hannity could put their petty-cash together and buy them a listener?

I could go on, but the word is out. You are dying, and we are just getting started. Me and my buddies in the Pajamahdeen are taking you to the cleaners. Back when you could lie without challenge, you were able to set and hold an agenda. Now you can’t get away with it, and you have no clue as to what to do about it. The truth is not your friend, and lies are not helping you like they once did. You should be afraid of us, as least as afraid as you are of good news from Iraq.

The bottom line is that more Americans love America more than they like you. More Americans trust America more than they trust you to say anything nice about her or her people. We have not forgotten what a wonderful country this is, just because you don’t say so anymore. We have many more reasons to love our country than you can give us to hate it.

Reasons like the folks at Canlis restaurant in Seattle that made sure that the Iraq Veteran did not have to pay for his and his girlfriend’s first meal after he returned to the states. Reasons like the firemen who rushed into the twin towers to try to save more America-loving citizens, and even a few that might not. Reasons like that and a thousand more every day that remind us that we are a good and generous collection of America-loving patriots, who outnumber you fools who believe that you can get ahead by trashing the only nation free enough to let you get away with your propaganda.

Why don’t you try to get a vote for Gay Marriage in Iran or China? Go ahead, organize protests, and march on their Capitol cities. If you live, you might get out of jail some 20 years after Judith Miller does. This nation is so great, so strong that even Helen Thomas can still find work. Speaking of WORK, do you plan on reporting on those unemployment numbers anytime this YEAR? It must make Katie Couric’s colon quiver to know that we have the highest rate of employment EVER and ANYWHERE ON EARTH. Maybe you will tell us about it after Cindy Sheehan takes a nap?

You see, I think the reason that people are turning away from you, and towards alternative forms of media, is that there is a majority of folks who don’t like you bastards tearing down this nation every chance you get, or featuring whatever stooge you can point your cameras at to do it for you. It seems to me, that in every way that I can find to measure how we are doing, compared to how you are doing, you are getting your disgraceful asses kicked.

One last thing, did you know that Free Republic was the most visited blog on the Internet? And it’s not even a blog! Imagine that. Maybe MSNBC could do better if they just pretended to be a network? Oh, that’s right, they are pretending.

I hope you think I am being fair in this little scorecard on how things are going for you, in comparison to how they are going for us. I did leave a few things out, like the incredibly-shrinking 911 Commission, and the fact that Tom Delay appears to still have a job, not to mention a few others.

And while we celebrate our momentum as you gather your forces to come after us and those we support, I don’t think you are going to beat us with the Sheehan woman, Al Sharpton, Move On.org and Code Pink as featured spokespersons for your agenda. Even though Barney Fife- oops, I mean Harry Reid and his ilk appear unable to provide you with any support, I don’t doubt you’ll keep trying to steer things in your direction.

Where I live, your crowd tried to remove a cross from a mountain, and 3/4th of the county voted against your attempts to put God in the closet, though 3 TV networks gave 99% coverage to the atheists. You can’t beat us anymore. When Dan Rather gives another interview about the memos, more people laugh than pay attention. When Maureen Dowd gives us another lesson in Bush-Hating 101, a lot of people think she needs a stuffed animal to hug.

From where I stand, it looks like the rout is on.

I’m Pukin Dog.

I wanted to thank you for your comments, but also let you know that I was never banned. I took a self-imposed break from Free Republic, as I was becoming quite a jerk (oh, like that has changed) to other posters in arguments.

Yeah, I know.

You are funny, pointed and almost always nail the target—but even with your self-imposed exile, you are not likely to see that "plays well with others" box checked any time soon. Considering the career you've had...well, let's just say I think it's an asset.

Now, that said, don't let it go to your head, because I definitely don't think you need it to focus on making it any bigger. ; )

On a serious note: The thing I appreciate more than anything else is that not only do you understand the philosophical underpinnings of conservatism, you understand the realities of politics. That is a somewhat rare combination around here.

Thanks again...and thanks for your commitment to our country. As I have said many times, to many people on this forum—It is because of men like you, that families like mine sleep soundly at night. We can never appreciate that enough.

Wow. Blushing.

Thanks. I appreciate it. Had to chuckle at "plays well with others", because I remember how my mother used to get on me when my teachers complained about that very thing.

I remember how my mother used to get on me when my teachers complained about that very thing I figured. I like the sound of your mom. I have a feeling she said it with a twinkle in her eye. Even if you never saw it.

Great Rant, Dog! I just got got back from a weekend gunshow in Augusta, Maine, where we legally sold legal firearms to Maine citizens in our continuing effort to aggravate the One-World Socialists who really dispise that nasty old Second Ammendment. Yours is the first post I've read since returning, and I'm having a hard time wiping the grin off my face!

Sir--you ARE a writer and a darn great one! You have the ability to provide us a view that is entertaining and informative and that is far more than most can do who call themselves a writer or author--and certainly you have more to offer than any journalist I've labored to read or listen.

I enjoyed this very very very much.

Kindly correct 'altar' for 'alter' and 'capital' for 'capitol' and may a thousand trackbacks bloom

I see hear Dan R. turning to the camera and saying

"..that was Pukin' Dog, from the internet."

Hey, partner,

As always, I agree with 99.44% of what you write. I do think on this one you overloaded on the anger and were a tad short on crispness.

I have an impossible goal of writing like Mark Steyn, a goal I recommend to all other writers. He sets the standard that killing with a stiletto is more effective (and more amusing to the reader) than killing with a meat ax. It's a very hard discipline.

Other than plaguing you with an impossible goal, I liked your latest.

Cordially,

Congressman Billybob
