The family of a Marine who was killed in Iraq is furious with Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll for showing up uninvited at his funeral this week, handing out her business card and then saying "our government" is against the war.

This is beyond low........
Sad, very sad.
She's bucking for Helen Thomas look-alike in the wrinkled up old hag department.
no class bottom feeder democrat
You're repeating yourself.
Just when you thought the Democrats couldn't go any lower, a reprehensible stunt like this comes along.
Walking over a hero's body on your political run is not something that will provide long-term benefits.
As ugly and inappropriate as this awful woman's actions were, she can never make a mockery of the death of this Marine. She simply doesn't have the power to do that. She made a mockery of herself.
This kind of news crops up on the weekend when hardly anyone is around reading an actual newspaper. I'm just surprised a left-winged rag even bothered to print it.
OMG...
Just curious what you think. IMO, there's a lot of fraud going on in PA, elections, especially in Philadelphia. In reality it's still a slightly Republican state. I say these people may have been elected fraudulently.
I didn't know invitations were required for funeral attendance. Nevertheless, this Lt. Governor's behaviour was totally inappropriate. She was there to "make a statement," not to console the family.
What a dirt-bag!!
This was lower than low....and she compounded the issue by claiming the government of PA is against the war....at a mans funeral who had just made the ultimate sacrifice.
Perhaps in some circumstances gay marriage makes sense.
Good question; and the follow-up question is: Is that what Mr. Rendell or Mrs. Knoll said in campaigning for office (in 2002)?
Intercepted message from Governor Rendell's office:
"Get those GD guys out with their GD nets...the Lt Governor has escaped from the attic again..."
I'm glad I read your reply before I posted, because I was going to say the exact same thing! Patronize is the perfect word for it.
You're right. Her office is more concerned about the "propriety" of her press coverage than the "propriety" of a fallen Marine's funeral. Really tells you what their priorities are, I suppose.
I love her credentials, which seem to boil down to:
1) She is a woman (all the "1st"s)
2) She had 4 children as a woman (accomplished kids)
3) She had "accomplishments" which remain unnamed.
4) She personally constructed a building (I'm guessing they embellished that one a bit... :->
5)She is the first person to ever have experience as a statewide officeholder (uniquely qualified) (probably another small embellishment)
6) She implemented high standards (didn't they have them before she was treasurer?)
Staff Sergeant Joseph Goodrich was a Marine, not a soldier.
