A small town in Indiana and a brief filed saying that Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided are entirely positive signs on first inspection, but the second reveals only a leaning and not a falling off on one side or the other. This is, of course, by White House design for the public understanding of Judge Roberts. Bush has exhibited his recurrent traits and examining G.W. Bush right now is the only way to know what really is in the heart of Judge Roberts.
Roberts is deliberately without much record. He is deliberately congenial and with friends all around. He is deliberately professionally competent, hard to make controversial fine. I say "deliberately" on Bush's part it is unknown if Judge Roberts has achieved his stealth status by his own design or by chance. Seemingly driven, popular success would encourage an individual to remain somewhat vanilla, but great strategists also sometimes hold their tongue and bide their time. We don't know, and that's the point.

Yeah, I sorta agree w/ you about Ann--I'm not @ all impressed by her good looks (I've definitely seen MUCH better!) or her being a blonde-haired conservative woman. Forgive me for bein rude, but sometimes I think Ann can be quite a smartass & I don't think that's good for our side of the debate...folks w/ that kinda attitude should remain on the Left: we should have more class than that, IMO.
I don't really know enuff about Judge John Roberts to make an informed decision on whether I support him or not, but
I DO appreciate Ms. Coulter's criticism of his nomination--maybe he isn't as conservative as the MSM & GOP Elite say he is, & I think it's important for us to know if that's true or not.
Now look in the mirror, and decide who you are.
I KNOW who I am, I'm just wondering what kind of person would go through a thread on Ann and pick out any negative
replies to focus on, then use them to tar the rest.
Perhaps you should go back to lurking for a while and get
a feel for how freepers really think.
Have a nice day.
Your intuition is a problem (I assume) because the leftists (except for the bozo Schumer openly insulted - love him but he asks dumb ass questions - by fellow senator Hatch) have not made a big deal out of this yet. And we must wonder why.
OTOH, most if not all social conservatives and I include the most respected pro life groups are quite pleased with this nomination.
As previously noted, assuming confirmation his decisions in the fall will be anxiously awaited. And if we are to assume (hopefully) at least 2 (or more?) appointments by Dubya, conservatives need to be resilient and watchful. I believe that is what the left doing...watching and waiting to see what happens later on.
Interesting times we live in doncha think?
I'm really glad I wasn't here for that.
That sickens me.
More and more trolls showing up and taking over the site, and nobody calls them out.
This never would happen otherwise - Conservatives use reason and discussion - not personal attacks.
Not hard to figure out which political affiliation and agenda the personal attackers fall in to.
Just wish more FReepers would figure it out.
Jim,
Why did you zot him? I can't imagine he was a Democrat posing as a Republican...
Stevens was nominated by Nixon.
Pragmatism has it's limitations Chunga. I agree with you for the most part but there comes a time....always does ...or else we would still have exactly the same parties we started with many years ago....and in reality, they have morphed and changed twice.
Whigs?
You can be darn sure what you're going to get from a Democrat appointee. Why not from a Republican?
Been here since October of 2004. Just in time to vote for Kerry, eh?
Keep the insults coming, so we can better identify you.
Haven't seen it, but I know where they can hire some excellent employees.
Ford's advisors were impressed with his writing, and thought he was sound on criminal law cases. Ford himself of course didn't have a clue. It didn't work out. Breyer and Souter are somewhat interesting to read, Stevens and Ginsberg are not. Not that I am a SCOTUS junkie. It is just my impression.
But Stevens isn't all bad. He's a bridge player. This poker craze is so infra dig.
Get over yourself. Nobody -- and I mean nobody -- gets a blank check on FR.
We're not liberals.
And she WAS and continues to be WRONG.
CB, you are in the business of promoting rational opinons. Coulter is in the opinon of promoting bombastic opinions, some of which are rational and some of which are not. Hence the divergence in your opinions of Roberts.
At the end of the day, Ann Coulter's opinion on this board is subject to the same scrutiny of any poster on this board. Ann's a big girl, she should be able to take the heat, given that she is fond of starting fires. Chill out.
Baloney.
I'm still irate because the grill marks on my arse that I've received from my fellow freepers aren't at asthetically-pleasing angles.
Bump.
What a shock. A troll logging on to mine conservative dissent.
Not to be argumentative, but what was bombastic about Coulter's column on Roberts?
She said he did have much of a track record to go on. She said that in the past, GOP picks have turned out different from their expectations.
Both of these things seem to be pretty undeniably true. Where's the bombast?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA........I was just getting to mention to you that this guy was whining about Coulter being trashed while using a WorldNetDaily article that -- trashes Bush!
