I just realized...I mean that.
It's going to come down to this.
I have often argued, as many here have, that when FReepers said they would sit home rather than vote for (McCain, usually, sometimes Guiliani), that such sitting out would put Hilary in the Whitehouse.
But I'm not moving on this.

Yes, because soldiers follow orders. However, there might be a possibility of a civil war, if a charismatic general emerged.LOL!!
Fall off the wagon tonight?

I don't like to think where we would be with four more years of a Clinton presidency.

Read "Atlas Shrugged". The premise of the story is to stop fighting the socialists and let them run the country into the ground and then come in and pick up the pieces.

That doesn't make a lot of sense, but knock yourself out if you think voting for Hilly will, on balance, advance your cause.

Exactly! Feel like I am back in 2000 defending Pres Bush against the naysayers declaring they wouldn't vote for him if he chose someone pro-abortion. I finally wrote a long editorial on the reasons why he would pick a pro-life VP. Frustrating isn't it?

Voting for Hitlery is not such a bad idea when you think a bit about it.
If the Republicans still retain control of the Senate and House of Representatives, then they will be able to truly limit government spending.
Something a completely Republican legislature and executive has not been able to accomplish to date.
Still I'm planning on voting for the Constitution Party candidate. I live in California so making a statement makes more sense than adding one more vote to a losing Republican effort.

A great many true conservatives have become very fed up with Bush's clear lack of conservatism. Bush-bots need not apply.

WRONG! Voting for the LP or the CP sends NO messages whatsoever and all of you fringers should just adxmit that you really want the Dem, whomever the candidate is, to win, because you're helping them. And because the GOP loses your votes, they swing more to the left, to attract voters to replace you.
The DEMs thank you....quite a lot; often and always.

President Bush has consistently made it clear since he first started campaigning in 1999 that he would appoint only strict constructionists. He doesn't lie.
He said he would nominate judges like Scalia and Thomas. We shall see, because Alberto Gonzales is certainly not in the mold of these two.

Tough stuff, sherlock! If the Republicans stray from conservatism, then isn't it reasonable to say that they do not deserve conservatives' votes?
Like former Senator/Governor Zell Miller said, "I didn't leave my party, it left me".
The same holds true here.

Rather than vote for Hillary, I would like to encourage (and vote for, if possible) some honest-to-God conservatives in the democrat party. They would have to show NO party discipline to democrats, and vote the RIGHT way every time. It would put a little fear in the complacent RINOs, who have taken their 'conservative' credentials for granted too long. My vote will go to the best/most conservative, whatever party he/she is from.

You might be thinking about the Yom Kippur War when Nixon placed our nukes on full alert after Brezhnev hinted the Russians might intervene on the Arabs behalf. Due to Watergate, the Administration was effectively hamstrung, and the Commies thought they could take advantage of the situation.
If there was any coup coming, it was to keep Nixon from starting WW3 once the Russkies backed down.
