Mission Impossible

Good morning, Finest Readers - your mission for today, should you choose to accept it, is to *set a pretty table* by making at least one post using the html *table* text I have provided below. Just follow these instructions, and it should be quite interesting - and fun for all!

• There are SIX examples to choose from.

• Copy and paste only one example/group of html text into a comment post. You will have to preview it to see the backgrounds and borders.

• After you choose the one you like, please type a story, a joke, a poem, or whatever *into the space you will have when you delete THIS sentence*: "Delete this whole sentence and put your post here instead."

• A word of caution - if you use more than one paragraph for your post, DO NOT USE THE <P>!!!!! Use <BR><BR> between the paragraphs instead!

• Additionally, if you want to illustrate your post with a graphic, please use only one, and place it above any of your text.

One more thing about the graphics - for this *pretty table* to work right, please make sure your graphic is no wider than 400 pixels, or it will stretch all the backgrounds. If you don't know how to find the width of a graphic, right-click on the graphic you're using, choose "properties" and it will give you the diminsions, width first. It is always good to include the width and height of graphics in your img src command when you post them, too. If you don't include the width and height in your command, as we are reading, the text jumps around and we lose our place when the graphics begin to open from that little tiny square!

Unlike the *real* Mission: Impossible, this thread will *not* self-destruct in five seconds, so let's have some fun with it. If you'd like to try some other backgrounds/borders, you can do that, too. Change the urls, and you get a whole different look! (Sistahs, please feel free to do your own thing with a layout of *your* choice!)

You can do it, Luv! Honestly! Take any one of the examples (except maybe the red and yellow happy face one, because it'
s a little bit trickier getting the text on just the solid color part), and REPLACE the urls in there with new ones that coordinate. I'm looking forward to others doing this!

Billie, you have GOT to be kidding. You lost me in the first sentence. I'm a one trick pony. I can retrieve graphics, period. The only reason I can do that is because SamWolf walked me through it like you would a first grader. Greek & Hebrew was fairly easy, but this........?

Now, now.....I saw your later post, and you did exactly what my opening post said to do. :) Cut and paste - that's all you had to do - and take out the sentence I wrote and replace it with your own! Now, Maggie won't be here until later, and I will put together (a little later this afternoon) the backgrounds I used for the Sistahs of the Spirit post, so you can both do *that* one instead of the smilies or something. :)

I was able to open the blank "thingie" in photoshop..just not that familiar with the program. Think I will for now open a few various white sizes, name & save & move them to ohter computer that is online, with stashes, & Picture It. Think that will work? Will keep in Jpg form not gif or Adobe's form

Hi Billie, can see everyone is having fun in here today with the HTML codes. Don't understand how you posted them without everything showing up in the finished form.

You have to use the html command that MAKES the brackets, INSTEAD of the brackets. I would type them here exactly as they should be typed, but they would *post* the BRACKETS! So will put a space between each of the characters (think "less than" for the left bracket and "greater than" for the right bracket, and it HAS to be in lower case - no caps!)

& l t ; without the spaces between creates the left bracket.
& g t ; is the right bracket.
Try going back up to my opening post and highlight one whole set of table commands and do a "view partial source". :)

Finally got the back porch pressure washed and painted then a storm came thru a few hours after it was painted. Hope the paint was dry enough, the whole porch was covered in rain water.

Oh, gosh! I hope it didn't mess it up. We did that once, and the paint hadn't cured long enough and part of it had to be repainted. :(
