Good. It's about time. Our nation has no use for such a hippie, sissy drug.

The decision appeals to some in the right-wing.

Yeah, the authoritarians who don't give a damn about the Constitution, as I already said. Just because they support it, doesn't make the decision any less leftist. I don't know why you're harping on this. The decision comes from the Court's left wing. Deal with it.

He uses marijuana medicinally for his MS.

There are legal drugs available by presciption that have the exact same medicinal properties as marijuana.

Tbis law was nothing but an excuse for people to get high legally.

Billions is spent on prosecuting drug addicts and alcoholics. They are sentenced to Mandatory rehabilition [prop 36]. But maybe they dont want to be sober, isnt that their choice? Its their life, their body, and the governement is forcing them to do something they may not neccisarily want to do. But we kill 4,400 babies everyday in this coutnry call it a "choice" and parade it around as some sort of femenist movement. Its G A R B A G E! and Im sick of the hypocricy.

btw, im not a dude ;)

If they get addicted and can't support themselves, you and I end up supporting them. That's the reality. Letting drug addicts kill themselves by ODing or by starving to death is simply not a politically feasible option.

Scary thing is, I could be right even though I'm joking about it.

So you'd rather support users as well as abuser/addicts in prison? Remember most users are not addicts.

We don't put users and addicts in prison. Our laws are designed to put dealers in prison. Okay, sometimes a mere user gets caught with a stash as big as a dealer usually has and gets thrown in the slammer. But such cases are rare.

And no, not all users are addicts, but many users turn into addicts, and I frankly see no point in taking the risk that a mere user will turn into an addict.

It's very hard to deal with. The case was before the court because Ashcroft, a Republican, intitiated the action that put it there. The liberal justices on the court sided with the liberal (republican?) administration.

Many of us feel that our party no longer supports and defends the constitution. Small government is out and liberal big government is in...Even in our own party!
