Caught in the act of evolution, the odd-looking, feathered dinosaur was becoming more vegetarian, moving away from its meat-eating ancestors.
It had the built-for-speed legs of meat-eaters, but was developing the bigger belly of plant-eaters. It had already lost the serrated teeth needed for tearing flesh. Those were replaced with the smaller, duller vegetarian variety.

Since there are two creation stories in Genesis, you tell me which one is the correct one.
Yes, I've heard the interpretation that the second story that begins at Genesis 2:4 is actually just a retelling of the first, and "they're really just one story". Sure.
Bottom line, different people interpret it differently. Pope John Paul II interprets it like I do, and the Catholic church has no problem with evolution.
Practically no one has the same interpretation of the Bible. If they had the same interpretation, then there'd be one Bible denomination, not hundreds. Or thousands.
The evidence found in Gods creation supports me. Since by definition Gods word and Gods creation cannot contradict each other, then my interpretation of Genesis must be correct.
1) Besides being a paleontologist by training, the guy's an expert in horses and is well acquainted with the habits of horses existing today, at least according to the article.
2) He's more likely to know the habits of existing horses than most paleontologists.
3) He's noted that:
Scientists once universally thought the more primitive horses, which lived from about 55 million to 20 million years ago, were primarily leaf-eating browsers, only becoming grass eaters as the prairie grasslands began to spread rapidly across North America during the Miocene Epoch about 20 million years ago, MacFadden said...The reality is not so clear cut, MacFadden said. Actually, during times of transition, some groups of horses actually became mixed feeders, eating both grasses and leafy material, he said...
Although modern horses are primarily grazers, they will feed on fruits and leaves when grass is in short supply, MacFadden said. Horses are highly adaptable, he said. They can exploit different food resources when they have to and are able to withstand a wide range of climates. They live in the tropics. They extend all the way up to the Arctic....
The preconceived notion that the horse was once as small as a dog but progressively grew to its present stature now can be proven to be incorrect, MacFadden said...
About 20 million years ago during the Miocene Epoch, horses diversified in size rather than just becoming larger, MacFadden said. While some grew larger, others became smaller or remained the same size, he said.
QED
Jesus was a general in the army that lost to the Romans in 70AD?
Wow. I didn't know that.
Evolution is amazing, I wonder who invented it?
So you accept this person as an expert on his subject, and you accept his account of horse evolution?
"Actually you singularly wrong."
Me and every Christian, I guess.
"actually, a province in china has a factory just for such a thing, according to the book China, Inc. They were the ones who produced the first "feathered dinosaur transitional form" proof that was reported in either national geographic or nature, a few years ago."
So, thes fake fossil factories have a design team that creates fake fossils just to fool creationists? And they spend countless hours producing unique fake fossils which have lineages to other fake fossils? Yeah, that's the ticket. And we never went to the moon either, that was a fake as well.
Would someone please explain to me how those horses got those stripes? Surely zebras are in the horse family.
now that i've gotten a third response to my comment, I feel I'll have to go back to the library, check the book back out, and come back with the page number and quote it. The author of the book devotes an entire section to counterfeit goods in china, of all kinds, from clothes and computers, to yes, FAKE FOSSILS. I'll hit the library after my night class.
Big butt and a peculiar tail, but being from northern Sweden, my first thought was spruce.
Bottom line, Genesis, and Job, are confusing. Whether behemoth is a hippo, or rino, or whatever, it certianly doesn't describe the entire class of dinosaurs. Even if it did, so what? We already know dinosaurs existed in great number. At least the Old Testament got it right on this one, if it really means dinosaur.
The fact that we can't get a definite idea of what Job is talking about here is even further evidence that Genesis just doesn't have enough information to make it clear exactly HOW God created the universe, life and the species.
Evolution still stands.
That doesn't answer the stripe question....if all horses evolved, then the stripe gene came in when??...it would seem to be at a specific time.
I don't see where his "stones" are. (ya gotta read Job for that one)
Big butt and peculiar tail....My first thought was Hillary and Bubba!!
It's very difficult for an institution to survive, when it publicly assets an inherently and obviously absurd position. The ancient Pythagoreans, for example, faded away when they were found out to be lying about irrational numbers. If the Republican party makes creationism a centerpiece, we're finished. And rightfully so. Such idiocy doesn't deserve to survive.
Caught in the act of evolution
BWWWAAAAHAhAHAAAAA!!! Oops... gotta go wipe off my keyboard...
Oh but silly, it MUST have, because the existence of a transcendent intellect/power is impossible, dontcha know!
