Exactly... I prefer Highway 7.62 when giving people directions to paradise.

In either case... 1 less...

If they shot him, shouldn't he be dead? Bad ammo.

I suspect the round was slowed a bit by the terrorist he was standing behind.

Oh I'd have to bet they have some damn solid evidence... probably more than they would need to take any GI into custody...

This is just like the U.N. volunteers and reporters that get shot working for the Palestinian terrorists. I have no sympathy.

More than enough. :) I was just commenting on someone's evident disappointment that treason was harder to prove than espionage.

Actually, the enemies within camp are worse than the ones you can easily identify. Of course, having the CBS logo is a pretty good brand for where you stand.

Wasn't there an American soldier that lobbed a grenade into his fellow soldier's tent?

Yes, I think that was a couple of weeks before the invasion in Kuwait, the soldier was a Muslim.

Jane Fonda..supposely turned in an American P.O.W. for slipping her a note...when she was "touring" N. Vietnam.

She did a lot of despicable things and should be in jail for treason, but that story is an urban legend.

U.S. military: Cameraman with CBS credentials detained in Iraq

http://cbsnewyork.com/international/Iraq-ReporterDetained-ai/resources_news_html

Friday April 08, 2005 BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) A cameraman carrying CBS press credentials was detained in Iraq earlier this week on suspicion of insurgent activity, the U.S. military said Friday.

The cameraman suffered minor injuries Tuesday during a battle between U.S. soldiers and suspected insurgents, the military said. He was standing next to an alleged insurgent who was killed during the shootout, the statement said.

The military issued a statement then saying the cameraman was shot because his equipment was mistaken for a weapon.

But on Friday, the military said the cameraman was detained because there was probable cause to believe he posed ``an imperative threat to coalition forces.''

``He is currently detained and will be processed as any other security detainee,'' the statement said.

CBS News spokeswoman Leigh Farris said, ``We're looking into the situation.''

A spokesman for Task Force Freedom, Capt. Mark Walter, said the reporter suffered minor wounds and was with ``a number of people'' involved in the shootout.

Walter said the reporter was detained immediately after the incident, in part because of statements from witnesses to the battle.

Officials are investigating the man's previous activities as well as ``his alleged support of anti-Iraqi insurgency activities,'' the statement said.

It's ironic that this story is out today. I'm sure it will be explained away. The irony is on Cspan this am, the National Press club had a group of "bloggers" discussing What is Journalism. On the panel was Jeff Gannon, some other folks & one Wonkette! It turned into a Jeff bashing session because of his "question".! But this CBS employee will be swept under the carpet!
